この施設について

Nene Cottage on Pali'uli Estate by an active Volcano

  • Nēnē Cottage is a one bedroom one bathroom cottage.

You can enjoy the sights of this small farm from the deck. We have added a bbq to the back as well.

Listen to 'io, Hawaiian hawks, as they soar overhead. This is very rare and amazing to see. We have wild pheasants, turkey and pigs that roam about. We also have sheep, chickens, a goat and a cow.

You are welcome to collect eggs to cook and enjoy.

Explore along our old Hawaiian walls and try to spot Jackson chameleons. Walk through O'hia trees and Hapu'u ferns. In the back of our property you can explore a trail that takes you through a bamboo forest.

We are only 3 minutes to Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. 35 minutes from Punalu’u beach (black sand) where sea turtles relax on the beach. 40 minutes to Hilo and its wonderful downtown shops and restaurants.

Volcano village has amazing restaurants and a small amount of shops.

We had a wonderful stay at Nene Cottage. Julie and her family were very warm, friendly and welcoming. The cottage is in a beautiful spot - just on the edge of volcano village, with a beautiful garden. It’s really close to volcano NP, about 5 minutes from the entrance. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated and has everything you need. The king bed is comfortable and access to the hot tub is an added bonus. We loved being greeted by their puppies and kittens, and the free range eggs from their chickens were a nice bonus. Highly recommended.

If you are looking for a great spot near Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, this is it! Nothing too fancy, but clean and puts you are only a few minutes from the park. Julie did a great job making sure I had everything I needed, and gave me some great local advice to make sure I optimized the time on my trip!

This was our first trip of a lifetime to the beautiful “Big island” of Hawaii and literally stayed only a 4 minute drive to the entrance of Volcano National Park. This place was tucked away but so convenient to everything on the East side of the island. Yes! We were part of the LALA tropical storm turned into a category 1 hurricane that caused very heavy rain, strong winds, flooding, road problems with debris and fallen power lines around Volcano. But we were very well informed and felt safe with our wonderful hosts at this great cottage. We had power outages late in morning of 8/15 but survived the storm with the warm hospitality of our hosts who made us some masubis, a popular Hawaiian snack made with and a filling wrapped in nori (seaweed) There was plenty of water because the cottage has a rainwater catchment system with a water filter pitcher in the fridge for added filtration. We enjoyed every moment and the peacefulness of the cottage tucked away on a farm but you can take a walk on their farm where there’s a bamboo forest in the back or take a walk on the Dead end nice neighborhood. Nice pets are around that will come a greet you. I highly recommend Nene Cottage to all who want to see the East side of Big Island. There’s two cottages there and we stayed in the smaller cozy one. Bigger families will love the other cottage next door with a second floor bedroom. I accidentally went into the bigger one so I’ve seen it. Mahalo Julie and family! Hope to see you again:))

The cottage was beautiful and perfect for what we needed. Julie was an amazing host who was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Her outside furbaby, Whisper, was a cute companion any time we stepped outside or were headed inside, offering cuddles if you wanted some.
