The Hotel & SPA Resort Freund is situated in a stunning landscape near the Kellerwald-Edersee UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, surrounded by fields and forests. It’s the ideal hideaway for people seeking tranquility who also enjoy athletic challenges. Activities such as horseback riding, yoga, hiking, Nordic walking, and mountain biking are offered here, and to top it all off, there’s a spacious wellness area, living spaces with panoramic views of nature, and creative regional cuisine. For horse-loving guests, the Hotel Freund features a unique Finnish horse stud just above the hotel; guests can even bring their own horse on vacation.
Three certified Nordic walking trails start right outside the hotel’s door. Mountain bikers will also find plenty to enjoy here. How about, for example, a loop around nearby Lake Eder? Yoga classes for beginners and advanced practitioners are, of course, included.
The magnificent “Orkeland SPA” wellness area offers everything your heart desires. An indoor pool and a Mediterranean-style outdoor pool are available, as well as a sauna area (indoor and outdoor). Guests can swim outdoors and sunbathe on the lawn in the plane tree garden or relax on the sun terrace. Brand-new is the beach garden with beach chairs, plenty of sand, and palm trees. Inside, you can find your own cozy spot in one of the light-filled relaxation oases and indulge in a variety of treatments.
