Beautiful classic government building with majestic library and reading rooms. I did not eat there but enjoyed the coffee at the self serve table. Dress code can make you think about what you have on but manageable. If you like character you'll love this stop. Bathrooms are updated, bedding superb - especially the pillows.

I liked the controlled entrance, double room locks. I appreciated how staff, Louis tried to help with my Expedia reservation. Unexpected room cleaning. Nice but I put receipt in trash that later needed.. My fault. Cost of parking and breakfast should be included. Positive. Quiet, enjoyed that a dress code is implemented. Made it feel special for a special 30 Anniversary

Lots of hair in the bathroom, window opened onto a flat roof that you could walk right out and into another room. Didn't feel safe with the windows open so it got to hot to have a good sleep.

Room was small, stuffy with no air conditioning. It was advertised as a "Deluxe Queen" and it was not deluxe and I don't think it was a queen size bed. Bathroom was small and shower could not be adjusted to a good temperature. Location was very good and walkable. Cost of the room indicated a better experience - not a good value. Not a repeat.

Obviously not a tourist hotel just a private members club that allowed nonmembers to stay. Dress code somewhat pretentious in this day and age when some of the best hotels in the world only require it for fine dining. No coffee or water in room, unheard of these days. The good points are, pristine bed linen , excellent food and the patio was worth a couple of visits.

The building is really beautiful and classic. The room was very clean and the bed was VERY comfortable. Probably the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever stayed in. The font desk people were helpful and friendly. I loved looking at all the artwork in all the hallways. Close to the bay, the parliament building, tons of shopping and food. I would stay here again if we ever came back to Victoria.

The club is a delight respite in the centre of the city. Esper Anne was welcoming, professional, and went out of her way to answer all of my questions. The club is beautiful with plenty of common areas to relax and read. The food is delicious and I appreciated the freshly coffee in the morning.

The room was clean and the shower worked well. The staff are friendly and helpful. The bathroom and bedroom are very small and lack air conditioning, which requires one to sleep with the window open and a fan blowing. The seagulls start their raucous squawking at dawn, so unless one has highly effective ear plugs, be prepared to awaken early. Perhaps the most annoying feature is the hotel’s parking arrangement, The front desk will provide an electronic key to enter or exit the parking garage, which is located several blocks from the hotel. One must then return the key to the front desk within a reasonable amount of time (20 to 30 minutes). So every time one wants to use their car, they must follow this routine. The good news is that parking is only $20 a night.

We loved the old building, built in 1931 (I think). The vibe of the building and staff is elegant and classy in an old way. Would definitely recommend checking it out. Comfy beds.
