We really enjoyed our stay. It was a cute home with what needed while we were in town for a youth mountain bike race at Muscatatuck Park. Would definitely stay again.
The house was exactly what I needed for a quiet get away. Super clean and spacious. The outside garden space with fire-pit was great to relax in and sip my morning coffee. The host went above and beyond on response time whenever I had a question. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay in a quaint historic town, this is the house you want. This will be my rental for all my upcoming visits to Vernon.
The Charming Historic Retreat Home was the best choice we could've made for making our daughters wedding day into a mini-vacation for us and to be able to be very, very near-by for preparations and the ceremony. The house was perfect for our needs and was very well kept. Vernon is a lovely town with historic character. In addition to being only a few miles from the wedding venue, the proximity with both Seymour and Madison was perfect. The hosts were willing to meet our needs in whatever we were needing to accomplish. We would love to visit and stay here again, and it's a bonus that both of our daughters live nearby.
We were in the area for a weekend event nearby. Our host had great communication and nearby if we needed anything. This house and town have some history, check it out. We will be coming back again.
We had a fantastic stay at this beautifully restored historic home in Vernon. It’s full of character but also has all the modern comforts—comfy beds, a well-equipped kitchen, and plenty of space to relax. The downstairs bedroom with its own sitting area and half-bath was a great bonus. We especially loved the private courtyard with the firepit—perfect for quiet evenings—and the location couldn’t be better. Everything in town was within walking distance: restaurants, the river, and a peaceful park. The greenspace right across the street was perfect for reading and relaxing. This home is warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully maintained. Highly recommend for a relaxing small-town getaway!
