Lovely property with nice patio. Very clean. Well equipped kitchen but fridge not working very well, took two days for our ice lollies to freeze. A niggle with the toilet when we checked in but this was addressed quickly, appreciate the quick response and open communication. We come to Venus Bay every year but we had an exceptionally good stay this year.

Lovely, cute, quiet getaway

Great experience with this property with a small group of friends. Living space was well air conditioned (with a great DVD collection) and large covered verenda was perfect for sitting out with everyone when the weather wasn't too hot. Small kitchen was extremely well stocked with everything we needed, and agents were great with communication beforehand when checking what utilities were there (kettle, microwave, stovetop, oven, BBQ). 5 minute drive to the beach and shops/food. Only small issue was the water pressure for some of the taps (kitchen) was quite weak due to the tank water and pump, and a single bathroom/toilet for a group of 8 was inconvenient at times, but for the price of the property (amazing value!) this was a small downside. Overall excellent beach getaway, great value for money, and very cute decor and house.

Worst experience

I would like to firstly say this was a weekend I was very much looking forward to as the 7 people the house was booked for was because our friend took their life 2 weeks earlier and we all wanted to get away, mourn the loss and enjoy our stay, however it didn’t go this well at all. Upon arriving, the owners had no idea about the booking, they had been there since Thursday and the house hadn’t been cleaned. The owner expressed that her brother had died the day earlier and that they had to deal with that while they were down there. We then weren’t back and able to enjoy the property which we had booked for the whole weekend till 5pm Saturday. We had a function we needed to get to, with limited time to get ready in a dirty house. There was no keys for the property, the text said ‘on site in the metre box’ which was no where to be found. The owners left the fly screen opened for us, which we also found very unprofessional and unsafe. On the Sunday we had the pack up the entire house as we had no keys to lock the property and then unpack our car when we got back. On the Monday the cleaners arrived at the property, demanding we leave so they can clean, and the keys which we also didn’t have. Never have I been so excited for a weekend away and have been completely let down by how unprofessional you as the agents are and the complete lack of remorse for ours or the owners situation with the mistake on your behalf.

Pet Friendly !!!

Although pets were accepted at the property it was not exactly pet friendly, ie no fences. The property has a very large balcony surrounding the house which could be made to better secure a small dog.
