17th century château in its original state, near Bayeux and the D-Day landing beaches
The castle has been in my family for 3 generations and was decorated by my grandmother. With its 9 bedrooms, it is the ideal place for reunions with family or friends, and can accommodate up to 20 people. The facilities are not necessarily modern, but everything works well. It has the charm of family homes that have remained in their original state! If you are looking for the luxury and comfort of a 5-star Château, we recommend that you find another holiday destination. On the other hand, if you are looking for the authenticity of country life, close to the beaches (15 minutes from Arromanches and Asnelles) in a setting that delights children, you have come to the right place: they will be able to enjoy the trampoline, the swing and the animals in the park (horses, sheep, chickens, ducks and a swan) and even go and get the egg laid by Jeannette the hen every morning! Surrounded by a moat, the Château de Vaux occupies the site of an old stronghold built in 1345. Rebuilt in 1727, the castle, preceded by a courtyard surrounded by outbuildings, currently inhabited by the caretaker, has a Mansard roof and elegant dormers. It is surrounded by fields and a small wood which gives it a soothing calm.
