"Horrendous experience! Host should be struck off your listings. The first thing he said to us was ‘hotel finished’, meaning we weren’t welcome. We assumed it was because we didn’t check in within the hour timeframe given, even though we rung the host to explain beforehand. Room filthy and a very cheap bed with 2 thin matteresses/long cushions on it!! France Road Trip (2025)

"The IBIS Fougeres is not in Fougeres and is more in an Industrial Area on the outskirts of the town. Expect to drive 6 miles down the road... The Service from Check-In to Check-Out was superb. What set this IBIS apart was the restaurant, this was probably the best meal we had during the 9 day trip and the Chef (Nolan) really was good at delivering a great plate of food. The Buffet Breakfast was to IBIS normal standard and adequate for most people. As our room was on the Ground Floor I backed the car to the window to off load luggage and reload on the departure. Wi-Fi was good and to normal Accor standards. The question I ask myself each time is whether I would return to this hotel and in this case it would be a YES based purely on Service and Food (over location)."

"Lovely, peacefu rural retreat where we spent 5 days. Ideally situated for visiting the owner's recommended sites, and many more. The proximity of Caen ferry terminal was perfect for us.I'd definitely like to go back."
