Vatnajökull National Park

The best part of this hotel is its location—the bus stop is right at the corner, it's close to the beach, and it's right at the top of Laugavegur street. However, I had many unpleasant experiences during my stay in August. Although I didn't have high expectations given what I paid, I was quite shocked by what I encountered. I have to say the room facilities were the worst I have ever experienced. The bed was completely worn out; I sank into the mattress and could feel the springs while trying to sleep. There were no hooks to hang clothes or towels in the washroom, and water got everywhere in the washroom after taking a shower. We later found a blood stain on the bedsheets. It felt like being at a campsite rather than a hotel. Finally, since my room faced the street, I could hear noise late into the night. The main issue is that you select a room based on website photos, but there is no way to know what the surrounding environment will actually be like.

Older property, could use some love: but all in all good. Well appointed kitchenette, bathroom and the bed was very comfy. Fairly easy to find, and in a decent location. A shelf or something for toiletries would be a good idea. It’s was noisy by the door( our room was right over the front door with pelo e coming and going a lot, but after a while you get used to that. Easy to get around that area. Rooms were clean and typical for Europe. The no front desk is a bit unusual but you adapt quickly.
