Brought my bachelor trip up to Mikes property. The whole trip was to good to be true. At first glance when booking I didn’t think it was possible to find a place like this but Mike provides all necessities with a great piece of property. He’s around if you need him and he’s out of sight if you don’t. Super laid back, genuine and accommodating host. Had a great time and look forward to come back up again. Hopefully you’re ready for the boys again next time Mike Cheers.

this place was perfect for our bachelor party boys weekend! waterfront dock, great industrial kitchen amenities, yard space, bonfire pit, kayaks, pool table, a great soundsytem, separate cabin for sleeping arrangement vs the main area, even had a little boutique golf course near by. what more could you want? Mike was an exceptional host who really went the extra mile to make sure we all had a great time. We will be back!

Down time

If you’re looking for Muskoka luxury - this is not it. But if you’re looking to truly getaway for some quiet lake time with family and friends - you’ve come to the right spot. It’s a true lodge experience on a beautiful lake surrounded by trees. Mike was the perfect host - accommodating and welcoming when you wanted/needed - but invisible when you wanted privacy. Spent a week with family aged 6 to 66 - something for everyone. Having the sleepover quarters in a separate building meant you could turn in for a quiet night and not be disturbed if others gathered to play pool and listen to music. We’ll be back.

Must read

I’ve been to a lot of cottages and this one tops them all. Never before has a host overdelivered like Mike did. We were able to use the commercial grade kitchen, bbq and smoker to make amazing meals. Use the movie theatre like TV, pool table and golden tee to keep ourselves entertained at night. Use the yard for lawn games and water for kayaking, canoeing & boating. The sleeping arrangements were exceptional, having a separate building entirely with multiple different air conditioned rooms consisting of king, queen double & singles. Overall amazing stay. We will be back!

Hidden Gem; Breathtaking views and Great Amenities

The photos posted do not do the property justice. Mike has made the lodge feel incredibly cozy, in a very large and open space. Great for large groups! Even if it rains, there’s lots to do inside including a golf video game, many TV’s, Netflix and other movie channels available, board games. Not to mention, a giant dining room table, pool table, industrial kitchen and bar. Our group couldn’t get over the fact of how hands on and kind Mike and Victoria are. He took us on an amazing pontoon ride to check out all the waterways and took us cliff jumping. The fall colours were absolutely immaculate, and he catered to every one of our needs. Mike is a great host and is very quick to respond and I can truthfully say that no other renter has gone above and beyond the way he does at Hidden4est. Him and Victoria are just all around very cool and one of a kind people! Also, the separation of the rooms, how many bathrooms there are, and how comfy the beds are made you feel so at home. They are also heated/air conditioned. The kitchen comes fully stacked with cooking supplies, cutlery, etc., so packing is a breeze. I want to keep this place my little secret, but luckily were ready to join the Hidden4est family. Can’t wait to come back! Thank you so much for having us, Mike !

Can’t go wrong with the Hidden4est

What an experience. Looking for a rental for a large group is not an easy task. When I found Hidden4est I thought- well, this looks great and it holds us all. 5 bedrooms, 6 baths- exactly what we need. After I booked, I finally read some reviews and my excitement about the cottage amped up a notch: the bedrooms are separate from the cottage and each room has its own bathroom!! Mike was able to switch the beds around in each room for each families different needs which was invaluable. The beds were extremely comfortable and all of us were shockingly delighted to have amazing sleeps each night we were there. There is the lodge which is spectacular with so many rooms but still close so everyone is still together but you can do what you want and have the space to do it. And then the industrial kitchen! Space and huge refrigerators and freezers and everything you need! Then we hit outside! Such a gorgeous view and beautiful lake. Seriously stunning. It’s at the end of the bay so doesn’t have boat traffic and all of us loved it. Hidden4est has everything you need and more. As for Mike- what a great host. You can see why he is a super host the minute you contact him. He replies quickly to questions and makes your stay as fantastic as it can be. He’s happy and charming and fun and so are Victoria and Hippie. They were all amazing to meet and we plan to see them again next summer 😃 Thanks for everything Hidden4est!!

Amazing property! Perfect for large groups!

The pictures don't do this property justice! We are a large group of 6 families and the lodge and separate building for sleeping couldn't have been more perfect for us! Our favourite parts...super comfy beds for everyone in our group, a huge kitchen with all the amenities you could need, tons of fridge and freezer space, an abundance of spots to gather and tons of seating indoors and out. Awesome waterfront with room for our boats, water trampoline and water toys! We are frequent renters and Mike is by far one of the best owner/operators I have dealt with. He was available to answer questions and made it his mission to make our week amazing! We are already booked for next summer! Highly recommend!

Fam & Friends Jam

Common are layout was really good. Multiple tvs meant we could watch a movie while the young adults could play video games. Industrial kitchen was great with lots of fridge and freezer space. The separate bar fridge and coffee station was awesome. Appreciated the separate sleeping area for early sleepers allowed peace and quiet time and bedding and towels included. Lots of washrooms and Hot water :). 3 extra kayaks so more could go out together. Being at the end of the lake so less boat traffic.

great family vacation

This year we had our annual family reunion at Mike's cabin. There were 14 of us, from ages 4-75, and all had a great time. The cabin had lots of space for everyone, the beds were comfy, with five suites everyone had enough room, and the lake was lovely.

The perfect place for the perfect boys weekend

I cannot stress it enough on how amazing the property and owner is. If your looking for a boys weekend, this is your place. Only 2.5 hours north of Barrie, it's the definition of a man cave. Huge property for any outdoor games you have planned, huge dock with massive fire pit beside. Commercial level kitchen with everything you need at your fingertips. Multiple tvs so everyone can wind down there own way, pool table and golf arcade machine. Seperate cabin rooms with full bathrooms. I cannot express the pride and effort mike puts into making it your perfect getaway. Willl be returning for sure!

Look no further if this place checks all your boxes!

We booked this stay for my Brother's Bachelor Weekend. Communication was always upfront and honest with the owner. Mike was extremely helpful and insightful with all questions we asked, which allowed us to plan an amazing long weekend where we never had to leave the property! Everything we needed was right there. From the awesome commercial kitchen, to the bar and pool table. We got great use out of the Golden tee, and were able to watch some playoff hockey too! Possibly the most underrated part of the entire experience is that the bedrooms are separated from the main cottage, allowing for those needing rest to get away, and those wanting to keep the good times rolling not having to worry about noise. I can't speak highly enough about this place and the awesome host Mike who assisted along the way. We will definitely be looking to return and hopefully even annually! Look no further if this place checks all your boxes!

Best Time Ever!!!

We stayed at Hidden4est for 6 nights over New Year's. We are a family that ranged between 13 and 17 members over the time period. We had absolutely the best time!! More than enough beds for all of us and the beds are super comfy. The lodge area was perfect from the commercial kitchen, to the pool room, to the bar, to the big screen TV room, to the table area that sat us all together...we made so many amazing memories. Priceless!! Our host Mike was fantastic! He took care of everything we needed. And a huge shout to Hippie! We will be back for sure! Thanks Mike!!

Best cottage ever

Mike is a the perfect host, very straight forward guy .He definitely take pride in his work. This is the best cottage by far we have ever been. Plenty of space, perfect for all age group. I will recommend this place in a heart beat.. Thank you again can't wait till next summer.

Decompress time

This was an ideal site for our group of 15 individuals, 6 adults and 9 adolescents. The common living space is open concept with cozy and inviting atmosphere and the adjacent kitchen both conducive to mingle stress-free. Six adults in the kitchen and having fun...can it get better?. The separate rooms are clean with comfortable beds for good rest, a must to enjoy swimming, canoeing, kayaking....the next day. We were received by the hosts Mike and Hippie who are not only fun and great hosts, but blend perfectly with the Hidden4rest compound. Great stay!

Big family vacation

Our group stayed at Hidden4rest the end of July. There were 5 families consisting of 11 adults and 8 children aged 5 months to 11. The day we arrived it was raining buckets all day. Hippie was there to welcome us and give us the grand tour. We started our week off with a bang! There was a power outage the night we arrived for a couple hours and in the morning there was a sink hole across the entire driveway. Mike was great in getting it fixed up for us first thing Monday. The kids spent most of their days down at the dock swimming and fishing and spent their evenings playing pool, Golden Tee and other games. We all got great use out the kayaks too. The kitchen was more than adequate to prepare our meals. It definitely had everything we needed and more. We loved being able to sit down at the same table and have family meals or even watch tv on the huge flat screen while lounging on the big couch. The beds were comfortable. Not one adult woke in the morning complaining about having a bad sleep. The rooms were hot and there weren't any fans but Mike told us that he was planning to get AC in there so that would definitely be a plus. The stairs to the upper rooms are quite steep and the railing going up is very open so we just made a rule that no little kids could go upstairs which meant the families with the young kids stayed in the rooms on the bottom. There is no cell service at the property just the wifi for messaging if you need it. Overall, our group had an awesome week at Hidden4rest. I would definitely recommend it for large group getaways.

Fantastic place to unplug and reconnect

My family had an amazing time at Hidden 4est. The kichen was perfect to cook our Thanksgiving Dinner. We especially appreciated all of the space. The pool tanle was a huge hit as well! Thanks Mike for your great hospitality.

You will not be disappointed

This property is well suited for groups of all sizes. We were a group of 6 guys but this space would be comfortable right up to the maximum of 20. The pictures do not do this place justice with lots of amenities and things to keep you busy regardless of the weather. The kitchen is well stocked for just about anything. Mike is an excellent host and was very responsive to any requests or questions before and during our stay. We will definitely be back!

We just had a great weekend at hidden4est. There were 12 of us , the lodge is amazing . The stay is top notch . Mike is a great host and will take good care of the group . I would highly recommend the booking it was a blast

Best Long Weekend Experience EVER

Wow! What an amazing property! Our stay exceeded all of our expectations from start to finish. Mike was an excellent host - always easy to reach and happy to accommodate as needed. He and Hippie are lovely people and made our stay that much better. From hanging out on the dock, having fires in the beautiful firepit beside the lake, and endless games of pool, our group had the best time celebrating multiple birthdays over the long weekend. The industrial kitchen is incredible and has everything you could need or want. The space throughout the whole lodge is massive! The separate lodge for the bedrooms, (each with unbelievably comfortable beds and a private en suite bathroom) was a great idea so that those who want to go to bed early aren't disturbed by the noise of the rest of the group. I can't say enough good things about this place. We will definitely be back! Thanks Mike for all your hospitality and for the best weekend!!

Get Booking...you don't want to miss this one!

We had an incredible time at ! The 14 of us (plus 3 dogs) were more than able to fit comfortably in the motel style bedrooms. We loved that the bedrooms were separate from the lodge itself, so everyone could choose to party or not. The beds were super comfy and the rooms were very clean. The lodge was amazing. So much space and it really felt like we had our own bar/ restaurant to ourselves. The HUGE TV, amazing stereo system, and pool table made our day when it rained. Never a dull moment. The entire property is immaculately kept. The lake was clean and a great place to swim, fish, canoe and spend the day relaxing on the dock. The huge fire pit was a great spot to spend the evening. Mike and Hip were incredibly kind and helpful. Mike was super easy to deal with and responded very promptly with any questions we had. We will be back!
