A villa facing the sunset, on the western coast of Ibiza
An intimate refuge facing the sea — Set into the hillside on Ibiza's western coast, just four kilometres from the beach of Cala Vadella, Can Gamby unfolds in a gentle arc above its terraces and pool. Turned towards the open sea, it offers, evening after evening, the quiet spectacle of a sun setting into the Mediterranean. The sea view is not a privilege one seeks out — it is everywhere, accompanying every room, every stone bench, every step through the garden. An architecture in a single sweep — What strikes one first is the generosity of the volumes. Conceived principally on a single level, the building stretches its white silhouette above the landscape and makes great space its signature. At its heart, the marble kitchen stands like a contemporary hearth, surrounded by the double living room and a dining area animated by a fireplace.
The bedrooms — On the upper floor, a master bedroom presides over the entire estate, with its own shower room and private dressing. On the main level, a second master bedroom enjoys its own bathroom and opens onto an adjoining children's room with bunk beds — together forming a family suite at the very heart of the house. Below, beneath the pool, another bedroom opens onto the garden and likewise communicates with a bunk-bed room: a second, more secluded family suite. On the other side, two equally communicating double bedrooms echo one another, each with its own shower room. To these are added three further sleeping spaces dedicated to staff.
Living outdoors — Around the house, the terraces extend into a series of patios — Provençal, pool house, zen — inviting one to wander as the hours unfold. The outdoor lounges, exceptionally comfortable, are conceived as so many open-air rooms. The handsome pool, framed by a botanical garden, dialogues with a wellness area combining an outdoor Obiozz sauna and a cold bath at four degrees — a Scandinavian ritual beneath the Balearic sky.
At the heart of evening — When the light begins to fade and the sea takes on copper reflections, Can Gamby reveals its true nature: that of an intimate refuge where one comes simply to watch the day draw to its close, glass in hand, with silence as one's only companion.
