They refused my prepaid reservation because my India drivers license was expired and I do not have an Aadhaar card. They did not accept my Canadian passport. There was no mention on the webpage that only Indian nationals are allowed to stay. The lobby and reception looked very nice and I was looking forward to my stay.

Close to the Udupi Sri Krishna Temple, that was the charm. I happened to be the first non-Indian citizen to have stayed there, they weren't aware of the protocols. Kept asking for more info than they needed, even well after I checked out. No-frills room, check the booking for an A/C room, it isn't clear from description.
