Our stay at Sanakara was everything we hoped for and more. It was exactly as expected, if not better. The décor looks just like the photos on Expedia, giving a beautiful Bali vibe that instantly felt relaxing. Our jacuzzi suite, in particular, made our honeymoon truly special.
The customer service and in-house staff were amazing. They were always smiling, incredibly helpful, and very respectful. The food was also great and added to the overall experience.
The only downside was the air-conditioning position in the jacuzzi suite, which felt impractical and caused the room to get really hot at night. Aside from that, everything was perfect, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Great hotel for the price, the indoor hot tub was great (even though it took 1 hour to fill). Rooms are massive a little outdated but for the price they’re great. The staff super helpful and everyone very nice.
Dinner at hotel is ok better to eat out, and breakfast also ok. But since it’s included it’s acceptable if you want to save money.
Point + :
1) the pictures in the sankara site dont match with the real room. The only room that have such pictures already offer to another guest, so my room dont match with the room I booked. The answer was the pictures is related to one specific room that already have guest inside and sorry. Nothing happen.
2) the light in pool area is poor and the lights are not working well. Need to change 2 lamps. The reception informed was too late and dangerous. Sorry and thats it.
3) towers in the room were dirty.
4) the shower was dirty with some hair of another guest/person on it. So our perception is the room was not checked and well cleaned.
5) the hairdryer is very low power and dont warm enought
6) the supoort of the reception was minless until now. They just know to say sorry and cannot do nothing more. When arrived nobody make the reception to pick-up our bags. Just one girl with no power enought to get the luggets so I need to do it by myself.
7) in our evaluation this hotel is old and the service ia very poor. We are really disapointed and we will not recommend this hotel for nobody. Not even for my enemies.
Note: In the second day the Hotel offer us two options: 1) change for the correct room we booked or 2) stay in the wrong room and get a dinner for free without drinks. This is completely unacceptable. For sure we choose to change the room, but we already lost one night, that costs around 1.000 brl almost 2M IDR. So they didnt do nothing for us.
The hotel was incredible! The most friendly and welcoming staff I’ve ever met. Such kind people who went above and beyond. The pool was beautiful and gym was great. The restaurant was delicious too! Highly recommend to anyone staying in Ubud. It was just outside the city center and very relaxing.
This was by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at in my whole life! The room is incredible, the views are immaculate, the spa is to die for! The cherry on top is the people here, everyone I’ve spoken to has been an angel!
The Sankara Resort & Spa by Pramana is an ideal choice for travelers seeking peaceful, romantic elegance in Ubud. It blends tropical serenity, thoughtful extras, and standout hospitality perfect for a rejuvenating Balinese getaway.
I would like to start by saying the staff was extremely friendly but it seems like the hotel itself lacks basic upkeep standards. Unfortunately, I’ve encountered several serious issues with the room given to us, that made it unsuitable for a comfortable stay.
After inspecting the room, I noticed the following problems:
* Mold and water damage on the walls and ceilings.
* Dirty furniture and stained linens that don’t seem to have been properly cleaned.
* Unpleasant odors and unmaintained plumbing, which have made the space feel unsanitary.
* Other maintenance issues, including rust and grime around the bathroom.
I’ve attached pictures with my review as well. I would not recommend staying here.

Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The staff were lovely however the property is tired, there was a musty damp smell in hallways and our room. We had to call staff maintenance staff several times to fix things. The property above our room (not part of Sankara) was very noisy on several occasions. We would not book again unfortunately.
Slightly mixed feelings on this one! This stay was really beautiful, the staff were amazing, the mocktails and smoothies were excellent, the room was comfortable and huge and the pool was gorgeous. It's really stunning. The food was pretty good. Overall it was really lovely and the area was quiet and peaceful, but still close to town. Loved that they offered yoga in the mornings too.
However, we woke up to a rat in our room eating the complimentary fruit basket they gave us and some of our personal food. We showed the staff the rat chomped food (visible bite marks), and I don't know if this is a cultural difference but I felt like they either didn't believe us or just didn't care, which was jarring. They gave us a discount on our food, so about 10 ish USD.
It's a very beautiful property and the staff is generally super friendly and kind, but I'm not sure if I'd return.
