The neighborhood: a quiet residential area about four blocks' walk from downtown Tuscola — coffee shops, restaurants, and bars. Convenient for business travel to Champaign-Urbana, Mattoon, and Decatur, or small-town getaways in Arthur and Arcola.
Housekeeping details: self check-in with a lockbox; smoke-free and pet-free for allergy comfort; equipped with smoke and carbon monoxide alarms; not suitable for young children or infants. Long stays of 28+ nights are welcome.
Deposit & checkout: A refundable $30 damage deposit is charged up front and will be refunded when you check out, provided you complete this short checklist: 1. Strip the used sheets off the beds. 2. Put the used sheets in the washing machine. 3. Put the fresh clean sheets (kept in the closet) back on the beds. 4. Take the trash out — please put garbage in the garbage bin by the front door (downstairs at the door). 5. Tidy up after yourselves. Dishes left in the drying rack are fine — no need to put them back in the cupboards; we'll take care of that. Please also shut off all electrical items and appliances you used before leaving (lights, etc.).
One honest note: Tuscola sits on the busiest three-rail junction south of Chicago (CSX, Union Pacific, and Canadian National). The neighborhood itself is quiet, but rail fans may enjoy the show.
