The Myrtles Plantation

"The Myrtles was one of the most charming places we’ve ever stayed. From the moment you arrive, it feels like stepping back in time. The property is beautiful and photo-worthy everywhere you turn, and the rocking chairs on the front porch make it feel especially inviting. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming and truly made us feel at home. You can tell they love what they do, and they were full of great recommendations. The onsite restaurant was both luxurious and delicious. The blackened redfish over crawfish risotto was heavenly and one of the highlights of our stay. There’s also a cozy coffee shop onsite, and the tour of the original historic home is definitely worth doing. The location is perfect because it feels peaceful and secluded, yet you’re only minutes from downtown St. Francisville, where you can explore charming shops, antique stores, restaurants, and so much local history. This was such a romantic getaway for my fiancé and me and truly one of our favorite trips. We absolutely loved our stay and would gladly return."

"This is my third time to stay at this property while doing a prison retreat at Angola. We were able to relax during our short break before returning the next day. The laundry facilities were helpful to wash hand towels for the retreat."

"Inside was clean and really nice. Was left overs from people before in fridge and in cabinets. Spider webs and wasp nest everywhere. Swim ladder is detaching and falling off of pier. Kind of expensive but all around an enjoyable stay."

"This home is as pictured and had everything needed to enjoy our stay. The location is literally two minutes from Historic Downtown St. Francisville. It is an older home tastefully renovated with 3 nice bedrooms and 1.5 baths. The half bath is small but definitely a plus.Our family was in for an engagement party and this property allowed us to stay together."

"So we stayed here to experience siemthing new. Ir was a good experience, to help build a local business, they did a good job for us, resetting our Tv, and we did enjoy the morning coffee. It was simple, clean, the way rhings were in the esrly days. Support small business and jobs! They did great!"

"Pros…The home was super clean and welcoming and cozy. The primary suite bed was very comfortable. The location to town was very convenient. The owner responds very quickly to texts. The cons… The outdoor furniture was covered in cobwebs and spiders and you couldn’t sit on it. I had to go to the store to buy cleaning products to clean the chairs on the dock and wipe the table so we could use them. The kitchen needs a few more kitchen gadgets and utensils. Although I had been warned by the owner and signed the lease agreement stating I knew about them, the amount of cameras around the property made me feel a little like I was being watched at all times. Overall, we had a great time and I would recommend this home to others."
