About this property
The Lakeview Kitchenette - 2 Queen Beds
Welcome to The Lakeview Kitchenette, a calm lakeside casita in the Dam Site Historic District. This bright, comfortable studio has a relaxed feel with soft desert tones and natural light from multiple windows. Inside, you'll find 2 queen beds with fresh linens, a dresser for storage, and a clean bathroom with a standard shower. The kitchenette includes a sink, mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and a single-burner cooktop-perfect for simple meals or morning coffee at the dining table by the window. A smart TV and reliable Wi-Fi make it easy to unwind after a day outdoors. The casita stays comfortable year-round with heating and air conditioning. Outside, you can enjoy a quiet spot to take in the view or watch the colors shift across the lake and surrounding cliffs. You're only steps from the Dam Site Marina, where guests can rent kayaks and stand-up paddle boards. Pontoon boats are available 2.5 miles north at our sister marina, Marina Del Sur. It's one of the few places in the region where you can stay close to the water and get on the lake without hauling gear or driving across town. With easy access to the shoreline, boat ramps, and walking areas, this casita makes a simple, convenient home base for lake days, fishing trips, or a peaceful getaway in southern New Mexico's desert landscape.

The restored casita, originally built by the CCC in 1940, was excellent. It has been thoughtfully updated with modern amenities, including plenty of electrical outlets, a mini-split air conditioner, and a flatscreen TV. The casita was spotless and fully stocked with everything we needed. I especially appreciated the abundance of hooks for hanging gear and personal items. The entire campground was clean and well-maintained, the host was friendly and courteous, and the views from the covered porch were spectacular. My only suggestions would be to plant trees between the casitas to provide much-needed shade and to avoid the disposal of cut trees and brush over the cliff, as the debris remains visible from the campsites and detracts from the otherwise beautiful scenery.
