"in 44 years of traveling around the world this was the worse and demeaning Hotel experience ever had( payment was made in advance BTW )! i cannot say anything about the accommodations because i never made it in!!! After an exhausting and temultuous
trip to Potenza , my only concern was checking in , resting down my heavy luggage and preparing etc etc!
however when i approached the door and tried to enter , there was no response or answer, i
also tried to call a dozen times to no response!
So...

"VRBO owner Filomena Benevento's title should be the "ambassador" of historical city Tricarico! Filomena was gracious for having a late evening dinner with local goodies in the fridge due to our late arrival, to taking us on a tour of her city. "Did not even come close to our expectations. We checked in just to have somewhere to catch our breath and look for alternative accommodation. Left without talking to the host as we didn't want to waste any more time there. It was a converted garage and the so called courtyard was non excistent as your car needed to be parked in what was in fact the driweway."

"Our stay at Masseria Straziuso - La Vaccariccia was an incredible surprise and success. Nestled in the countryside, the inn sits in the middle of a magnificent working farm. We were traveling with a three year old and he was enchanted with the variety of animals. The host could not have been more welcoming and informative. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!"

"We traveled through Europe for two to three months every year. So, we have made it a habit to choose different hotels to have different experiences.we choose our hotels by our own feelings. This place looked beautiful from the outside and a beautiful interior presentation. To sadly find out that the hotel customer service did not match its beauty.
Front desk reception was difficult and challenging with very unhappy faces.
Breakfast staff was unfriendly and could not get a welcome smile from them. Dinner staff was just as unfriendly. I might say to be fair the housekeepers were very nice and helpful.probably to fair the staff is overworked at the same time if they want to be in the hospitality business they want to trained the staff to be friendly. "
