Very clean ryokan and accommodating hosts.
Breakfast is so tasty
Good spot if visiting this cute onsen town, very friendly and accommodating staff. For the price I’d recommend looking at other places as we stayed one night at another family run inn which gave us the complete experience package for not much more, but still recommended.
My stay here was absolutely fantastic. The staff are very helpful and answered all kinds of questions about my room and the town itself. The room was immaculate and well-tended throughout my stay. Their private baths were very nice. It's in a nice location on the edge of the shopping area not far from the train station, with a nice view overlooking the river.
Perfect little hotel on the river front with easy access to the entire town. The staff was very friendly and helpful and they took really good care of the hotel.
We had a wonderful stay at our hotel in Kinosaki Onsen! The staff were incredibly nice, polite, and friendly—they spoke English very well, which made everything smooth and comfortable. The food was superb, especially the dinner, which featured a beautifully prepared 9-course meal showcasing local ingredients and flavors. The entire experience felt authentic and relaxing. The surrounding area is peaceful and quiet, a perfect escape from the busy city life. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a serene getaway and exceptional hospitality!
Beautiful ryokan with a modern aesthetic in rooms. Spacious rooms and very friendly staff. Private baths were very hot and easily booked. Well located and easy to arrange for parking. Yukatas are provided and easy to wander the town, along with included pass to all the baths in town.
The hotel is centrally located and a short 5 minute walk from the train station, and the staff are very friendly and accommodation.
The hotel is very clean, the rooms are spacious, and the hotsprings within are spacious and relaxing.
Lovey ryokan in a great location in Kinosaki onsen. Beautifully styled rooms. Excellent service and location. Peaceful and quiet and close to the station. Would recommend. Dinner and breakfast was delicious and a really great experience.
A wonderful property with very lovely staff who were friendly and helpful. The onsens on the property were great.. We appreciated being a touch further from the public onsens because despite the amount of people walking around in the evening, it was still very peaceful. Very comfortable tatami beds and the traditional breakfast is a must if you really want to immerse yourself in the experience.
Spacious rooms and with respectful guests who were quiet, it was a very enjoyable place to stay.
Would recommend staying here and will tell fellow travellers to please respect the traditions of the Ryokan and understand this is a place for a quiet peaceful stay, which we were delighted to be able to enjoy.

Liked: Staff & service
I did not stay in this hotel but booked for my bother and his partner due to the one I stayed at was full. The location is very good as it is 5-10 minutes walk to the train station and on the main street of the hot spring town, close to shopping and the public baths. However, the room rate is not cheap, and if you want dinner and breakfast, you have to pay extra to purchase them.
We stayed one night as a quick visit. The hotel is located at the end of the onsen strip. It's a older hotel. Lights are dimmer than the ones in the cities. We like that we get futons and sleep on the floor. Front desk staff speaks limited English, but they try their best to answer our questions. They will use a translator to help us understand if we have questions. They also loan out yukata for us to wear and we can onsen hop to other hotel onsen at no additional charge. We get a tour to our room from the hotel staff. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic, but you will need to reserve to get a spot. A lot of shops closed by 8 pm so book dinner at the hotel if it's available. We didn't stay long enough to enjoy the onsen at other hotels so will definitely return to try other onsens next trip. The shower room was super clean for an older hotel. Looks brand new!
Staff was very accomodating! There was an English speaking staff member that sat down with us and explained everything we needed to know from how to wear the Yukata to using the 7 public onsens. The room itself was quite spacious and very tidy. We tried both of the private onsens on the premise, they were both clean and very relaxing to sit in! Check-in and check-out was easy, there were plenty of amenities on the premise, and they allowed early baggage drop off. Can't recommend enough :)
Hotel location was at crossroads of two main streets with plenty of shopping and dining options nearby. It was also a short walk from the train station and the public Onsens. Lastly the property has two private Onsens which could be reserved. Our stay was very relaxing.
.Kinosaki Onsen, the town, was celebrating it's 1300th year as an onsen town in 2025! The other guests were Japanese, but our host, Odie, spoke perfect English and explained everything very well.
.Our group had 2 rooms. Both rooms were large traditional Japanese rooms (toilet/sink area, but no bath/shower in the room--onsen town!). VERY clean and stylish with a nice view of the main river street. Kotatsu sunken seating area, and a separate dining table area with floor chairs with backs. There were no children at the time of our stay, but families are welcome.
.There are only 8 rooms in Ichidaya Inn. There were some elderly guests (it's a multi-story walk-up with no elevator; pack light, be ready for stairs). Ichidaya has 2 private Onsen which families can use together. We didn't have schedule difficulties with so few rooms using the baths. We stayed for 2 nights/3 days during our 2 weeks in Japan. It was the highlight of our trip! It was in early April, and the cherry blossoms just happened to be in full bloom!
.Ichidaya yukata and jackets are worn inside the Ryokan and throughout the town. Several fancy women's yukata/obi/bows were no additional charge.
. The Ryokan meals were worth every penny. It was far more food than we could eat! Delicious and beautifully presented. Meals were very different our two nights; both fantastic! They accommodated shellfish/pork avoidance. Advance notice required.
Ichidaya is near train tracks, but trains didn't disturb night sleep.
