Tow Hill

The hotel needed some work on the outside. The inside had been refurbished for the upcoming Fifa games. The room was cozy and bright with the most comfortable bed my husband & I have ever slept in. The room was very clean, but modest. We also had a view of the Vancouver skyline from our 3rd floor window. Hondra, the manager, was very gracious and helpful upon our arrival and throughout our 4 day stay. She was very available, though not always onsite. We had privacy and quiet. The hotel is located in the Vancouver suburb of Collingswood. It has a lowkey vibe which was wonderful to return to after a busy day in the dynamic high energy city. If you are looking for a good budget hotel this is the one.

I would have liked to access the breakfast offered to other guests but because I booked with Expedia I was unable to access

The Keefer hotel was a unique experience in that there is no on-site front desk; all the communication with staff occurs remotely. That being said, there did appear to be a security guard available 24/7 and housecleaning was present in the mornings. The one-bedroom apartment in which we stayed was very clean and new, and I liked that we had a four-person dining room table. The only frustration was that the stovetop was pretty impossible to figure out without directions. I tried to heat water in the teakettle and could not get the burner turned on; I finally had to give up and heat my water in the microwave. The digital display on the oven was off by one hour, probably due to daylight savings time and we couldn't figure out how to update its time, either. But those were minor annoyances overall. We would definitely consider staying again, and we did like the proximity to the Chinese Garden, which we had come to see. It was literally around the corner.
