DO NOT STAY HERE!!
On arrival at the hotel in the evening we were told that the parking was £10 per night even though the website I booked through said free parking. We were then told that the lift was out of order, I have read reviews since stating other guests were also told this, but I don't believe that there even IS a lift at the hotel and the staff are told to lie.
The girl at the reception was pleasant and polite and I felt sorry for her. There was a man skulking around reception acting strangly and staring at us the whole time we were checking in. We presumed was a member of staff, it was unnerving.
We were then told we had to pay for the room (I had to check my bank to find that Expedia had only taken £8 when I thought that I had paid in full) I really wish I had checked the room before paying.
As we struggled up the stairs with our luggage, the closer we got alongthe corridor, the dirtier the carpets and walls became. Our room was dingy, smelly and the carpet was disgusting. Old stains on the walls and carpets and cigarette burns on the bathroom window sill. All the furniture was damaged or broken. The bed sheets were dirty and smelt damp.
There were lots of dodgy looking men hanging around in the corridor outside our room and we didn't feel safe. We felt that we couldn't stay and left after 10 minutes and booked into the local Travelodge which thankfully had a room available.
I can't believe that this place is allowed to run as a hotel, its disgusting and needs
