When i arrived, front desk said they had no record of my reservation but they could offer me a room. They said they havent worked with expedia in quite some time. Turns out when I called customer support to complain, they do work with expedia but then charged me twice for a room.

I booked this through Expedia.ca and when we arrived we were told that The Queensway Motel did not deal with Expedia, had never dealt with Expedia and would not honour our Expedia-confirmed reservation. The Motel did agree to rent us two more expensive rooms for the night, which we took because we were desperate. We were shown one of the rooms as the other had not been cleaned. When we returned after our event one room had STILL not been cleaned and we had to fight with the staff to get it cleaned as the staff insisted that (somehow) we had gone into the room and used the shampoo etc, filled up the garbage and slept in the bed which of course was impossible because we had not entered the uncleaned room. It was nearly midnight by the time the room had been cleaned. Dreadful experience but also something to do with Expedia because, well Expedia confirmed a reservation with a Motel that does not deal with Expedia.

Unfortunately its a very old property. The pillows smelled bad. The bed sunk on the middle.

The facility is old. I don't expect much from a motel, but room definitely should be painted to have a more welcoming look. Nothing fancy, just one coat of fresh paint to cover white painted spot on dark blue wall will do. Towels were with yellow spots; I assume they were clean, just old. Stayed for 2 nights. There was no housekeeping; nobody took the garbage out. Positive thing: mattress was great.

The front desk staff were very nice and I have no complaints about them. However, I woke up in the morning with itchy bites all over my body. I have to go to the doctor today to figure out if it's bedbugs, scabies, or fleas. For the same price you can find other hotels that won't suck your blood while you sleep.

Pros: Security system, staff Neutral: Some new furniture, some old. Clean sheets but stained comforter. Cons: The place smells like smoke at night so if you're sensitive to that this isn't the place for you. Our room smelled like someone spilled an entire bottle of rum but we were able to go nose-blind to it eventually. Doors on the same floor open and close every 10 seconds all night long (not exaggerating) so I basically didn't sleep. The walls are very thin so you can hear people having sex or arguments etc, so if that's something that bothers you or you're a light sleeper like me you'll want to steer clear.

Overall Good Stay

Quick and friendly check in/out. Free parking was a bonus, close to Mimico GO, another bonus. I was concerned at first the entrances were not secure, but discovered later when we came back from our event that the main doors into the hallway required a key. Could’ve used a better wipe down of night tables, as some unknown something was one one, but I’m thorough about cleanliness anyway so just took a pic to make sure no one thought it was us, because I didn’t want to touch it. Cigarette stains, which just makes me sad for the people disrespecting the property and shouldn’t reflect on management. The bed was much more soft than I’m used to at motels/hotels. My gf and I were almost falling into one another. Other than that it was clean and a decent neighbourhood (quiet) with lots of nail salons and massage parlours, an awesome bakery and coffee shop. Will stay again. Thanks for the bandaid!

Could have been better

Front desk staff was courteous, room was comfortable. However, could hear sounds in hallway. Bathroom had mold on tiles. Price was good though.
