We stayed at the Cabin for a short Christmas getaway. It was a prefect place for use.

Clean and cozy place and close enough to anything we needed. We will definitely look to stay again.

Incredible place and great value!!

Nice cabin and location

Enjoyed the stay, owners were very informative about local activities and operations regarding the property. Other than a water supply failure on the last morning of our stay (which was workable for two guys, but would have been a real issue had the wives been with us), the experience was totally awesome.

Great cabin!

This is a very nice cabin in a great location. The owners communicated clearly to us all the cleaning protocol they follow and put our minds at ease in this Covid era. Upon the arrival we found the place absolutely spotless! The cabin is very nicely furnished and cozy and had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. We are looking forward to staying there again.

Great Place!

I enjoyed my time at this cabin very much. It had everything I needed. The caretaker even checked in after a big storm. There was only one night where someone was in the cabin below this one so I felt like the whole place was mine! The view is beautiful in winter through the trees to the mountains.

Great Accomodations for Fontana Area Fishing

The Dogwood Breeze cabin is well laid out and furnished for 3-4 visitors and the location puts you near some really nice spots for fishing the Fontana River along Highway 19. Its location is secluded and just a bit off the beaten path, but the owners did a great job communicating directions and valuable information, right up to our departure. We look forward to another opportunity to visit the Topton/Bryson City area and hope this cabin is available for us again.

Exactly what we needed

We were in the area for the marriage of our son. The cabin was close to the venue and was a nice place to relax in between wedding events. It comfortably houses the six of us and was a beautiful place to visit. I could see coming back for a family vacation. The hosts were very helpful and informative.

This cabin is so cute and a great place to stay when you want to get away and relax.

We really enjoyed our stay in this cabin. The owners were so kind and helpful and shared tips, things to do, and even a weather report for the time we were in the area. The cabin had everything we needed and it was so comfortable. There was a gas fireplace that not only added heat to the living room area, but it also added the right atmosphere for rest and relaxation. The back porch was also nice with rocking chairs that overlooked the side of the mountain where you could hear the rushing stream in the distance. We recommend if you would like to get off the grid and reconnect with yourself and nature. We can't wait to go back.

Away from reality

The house is great to just get away from everyday life, no one will find you (or call, no cell service) which i liked. House is bigger than it looks in the pictures. We visited the Fontana Damn, rode on the Smokey Mountain Rail Road, and drove the mountain roads to get some good views. Its been 26 years since we were in this area and cant wait to get back in a couple years when our daughter is old enough to ride the rafting and and can go on longer hikes. Would diffidently rent this house again. Thank You.

Cozy Cabin

We had a wonderful time at this mountain cabin in the woods.. It was secluded yet easy to find and the cabin was well-equipped for our stay. Check in and out were a breeze and the owners quickly responded. The area and cabin itself are lovely. You can even hear the constant rushing river from the cabin. The property was very clean aside from dust on light fixtures and fans. The only negative was that the master bed box springs were very noisy and the property is on the mountain so the driveway and property as a whole are very steep and wooded. However, the driveway was well maintained. Even with these small negatives I would highly recommend this property. It is beautiful everywhere you look and It doesn’t just feel like a rental house. It feels like home.

Could be so much more

My family and I were really excited for this trip and for the stay at the cabin with 40 acres of privacy and quiet. However, our expectations did not meet up with reality. Pros: 1. Nice, quiet, relaxing location. 2. Towels were nice and there were plenty of them. 3. Charming local furniture. 4. Good size for a small group or family. 5. Cute and nice plates, cups, and mugs. 6. It is simply furnished and tidy. Cons: 1. The queen size bed was the most uncomfortable bed my husband and I have ever shared (and we travel a lot). It was loud, not the bed frame, but the mattress itself. Anytime one of us moved, it would wake the other up. After the first night, I ended up sharing the twin room with my son. My husband took the queen, because we found one side was slightly better than the other. We contemplated trying the pull-out sofa. But it was even worse than the bed. Additionally, there were no mattress pad covers on the beds and the queen sheets were dirty when we got there. 2. There is technically a grill on the property. However, it is like one you find at a picnic shelter. No coverings, and no one has cleaned that thing in a while. Most of our meals were planned to be cooked on the grill, but it was so nasty that we just couldn't, so we had to drive 45 minutes to the nearest store to get a small grill to use. We could have used the cookware in the home, but most of them were also not in great shape. One pan was flaking teflon and one cookie sheet was covered in rust. Additionally, most of the knives were bent, rusted, or chipped. 3. Upon first glance it looks clean, but there was a thick layer of dust over every light fixture, baseboard, ceiling fan, rafter, and basically any surface not used on a regular basis. There were dead bugs in the corners of some of the rooms and on windowsills. We even discovered random pieces of trash on the floor. While it is the mountains and they did have wifi and Satellite TV, be prepared that they will go out if it rains, if it storms, or in some case even if it's sunny. Luckily we packed games and books to occupy our time when we were in the cabin (there was nothing available in the cabin). Family movie night was hard since we struggled to stream anything. My recommendation would be to update the mattresses, the linens, the cookware, add a grill, and make sure the cleaning crew is doing what they should be doing. Add in some movies, books, and games for your guests. Small touches go a long way.

Very quiet and relaxing cozy cabin. Enjoyed visiting area towns, riding trains in Bryson City and Andrew’s. Beautiful weather and gorgeous leaves.
