The host was very welcoming and we enjoyed our stay. I note the oven kept going off by itself and we'd have to turn it on again. Loved the fire pit and the bbq grill.
We enjoyed a 1-night stay for a concert in town, with 2 other couples. Owner was very good and easy to communicate with and helpful!
The place was clean and comfortable.
We would stay here again!
The house was in a perfect location. It is in a quiet upscale neighborhood and was very clean and comfortable. Large fenced backyard with seating and a playground for kids.
Topeka is a central location for my extended family. This house is perfect for family reunions with the large kitchen, spacious backyard and lots of beds. It also happens to be in my favorite Topeka neighborhood.
The master suite was wonderful even though vintage. So much room for our daytime great grandchildren to play and put toys together when they visited. Big table in dining area as a gathering place. Enjoyed the three bathrooms. Loved Westboro for walking and the surrounding beauty. Jack was responsive to our needs.
Although the road trip was a little longer than expected, upon arrival satisfaction with property met all expectations. Jack responds promptly with messages, instructions, etc. However, not much communication was needed after check in. We had no issues or mishaps during our stay. The neighbors are friendly and clean up was a breeze as all supplies needed were available. The only minuscule surprises was there were only two televisions and four family members who sleep with the TV on…lol! We gave them a tablet and all was well. Will recommend and stay again when in Topeka, KS. 🤝
Lovely, quiet neighborhood. Hosts weren't kidding when they said kid-friendly! Nine adults and one infant slept in the house; we were joined by 8 local adults and 4 kids (under 10) during the day. Toys in the basement, playground in the fenced backyard (kids loved the mailbox!), large patio, gas grill, fire pit, chairs, tv in the sunroom for the guys to watch the game, separate living room for another group to converse, third group visited in the dining room. We did substantial cooking and had every utensil necessary. One person had to do some work online and used the office--perfect. Plenty of parking. Fantastic stay! If we convene again in Topeka, this will be our go-to.
We have stayed here before and I highly recommend this property. The host goes out of his way to make sure that everything is fixed and ready to go. We come down and take an annual trip here and will always try to rent the house whenever we can.
My adult son and I stayed here for the Unbound bike race in Emporia. This place is by far the best place we've stayed at for this race. The bedrooms were very spacious, and the kitchen had everything we needed. I loved the office next to the kitchen, and we enjoyed a bonfire in the backyard after the race. The garage was very nice as well. We would be happy to stay here again in the future.
Need a home to rent this is your place has everything you need for your stay and to top it off it has a play area outside and a basement with toys for they kids to play with my kids loved it there and alots of room for everyone to enjoy them self we will for sure stay again over all it was a great weekend
A wonderful place to celebrate. We love this home. We stayed here last year and will stay again. Beautiful area but conveniently located to needs and wants. Complete second bathroom was added which was wonderful. We love the master suite❤️
Jack was so accommodating for my husband and I and our pups - we ended up staying an additional night due to car troubles, as we were doing a cross country trip. We all felt very comfortable in this beautiful home and neighborhood, and it was near many sights and restaurants. The backyard is wonderful! And the GMC dealership in town were great as well, as we ended up purchasing a new car while in Topeka to continue our travels. Thank you!
We come to the tulip festival as a multi generational girls trip. This was the first time we decided to stay in a house versus hotel rooms. I highly recommend Holly House. The property was huge, the owners were very easy to work with. We will definitely be back
Very easy to work with this property owner. Good communication throughout the process. Easy access to the home, and neighborhood. Good area to walk, park nearby, friendly surroundings. Plenty of space with a nice backyard. Rooms were really spacious and comfortable beds. There is nothing too far in Topeka and this space keeps you in the center of everything.
We highly recommend this lovely home for your visit to Topeka. We stayed for the weekend to attend a family wedding, and really enjoyed this cozy home. It has charming vintage details- original wood floors, colorful bathrooms, handy built in storage, and pretty antique furnishings. It also has a convenient updated kitchen, tons of spaces to relax both indoors and outdoors, and is well stocked with every supply you may need. The central location is handy, the neighborhood is lovely, and there is a peaceful, shady park just down the block. The hospitable owner made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Advisors Excel rented this property to film their holiday video and we had nothing short of a great experience while doing so. The neighbors are so friendly and the location is in such a cute area with other houses that show just as much character as this one. Jack was amazing to work with and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the booking. You can tell how much he not only cares about his customers but also the house itself.
Overall fantastic time!
Overall, this was a great house and suited our needs admirably. But the incessant barking when anyone was in the back yard by the two bowers on the west side and the early morning barking by the dog on the east side were very tiresome- and we own dogs. Combine this with the backyard fence being down (the owner informed us the day of arrival that the wind had blown the fence down and they were working on repairs) meant that our dogs were not contained as described. Other than these two things, this is a fine property, but someone should say or do something about the two boxers because it ruins sitting in the backyard.
Stayed in this beautiful home for 4 nights. We were celebrating Mother’s Day by have a family reunion. The house reminds me of a favorite aunts home-warm, inviting, cozy yet spacious, and welcoming place to stay. All rooms are well appointed with comfortable furniture-the beds are better than the ones in my home! So many rooms to spread out so some family could sit and visit while others played board games and the kids could be in a separate room to watch tv, play in the kid-friendly basement or go outside to play on the swing set. Everything we needed in the kitchen was there. Plenty of cookware and dishes. The walk-in pantry was great so we could store our food in there instead of storing it on the counters. The outside patio offered a grill and two tables. Bonus was the fire pit, which we didn’t use due to rain. It was a perfect setup. The best part of our experience renting this home was the host. Jack was attentive to our needs and was easy to contact if we needed to. I would recommend this home to any couple, family, or small groups. Our family was unanimous in wanting to return for our next reunion.
