  • The Dunes House at Chesterman Beach is the perfect vacation rental retreat for a relaxing and peaceful holiday in Tofino. The house features spacious living and dining areas and a full kitchen that meets all of your culinary needs. There are 2 bedrooms, each with a queen size bed, and a living room with a queen sofa bed. Relax on the large sunny deck, with hot tub and gas BBQ. Downtown Tofino is a short 2 minute drive and North Chesterman Beach is a 2 minute walk. The Dunes House at Chesterman Beach an ideal location to enjoy your Tofino family vacation.

    Dunes House is in a quiet residential area. We have a strictly enforced no groups, parties or late night noise policy; especially in the midst of the current pandemic.

A hidden gem in a very quiet area. A nestled hot tub in the trees in a private backyard. Large kitchen for cooking and well appointed rooms. Would come back again!

It had all the amenities we needed.

It was well stocked so that we could make all our meals in the kitchen, the hot tub water was heated and the BBQ worked perfectly. Additionally, it was in a nice location thst was quiet and peaceful.Initially, the dryer tripped off prematurely but the manager quickly responded to the issue.

Great location, just two blocks to the beach and a quick 5 minute walk to Tacofino, coffee and more. We stayed here for 5 days in early August and loved it. Plus, the coffee situation is amazing!! We will be back!

Weekend getaway

The property is tucked into its own little forest so it feels very private. Roomy, bright, very clean and has all the amenities including a wine fridge and a nice espresso machine. Very comfy beds, and lots of games in the living room. Perfect for the 6 of us. Highly recommend The Dunes for your stay in Tofino!

Lovely stay in hideaway house close to beach

We loved this house with its rainforest garden. Beatiful, clean, well equipped with an extra bonus for the kitchen. Nice outdoor deck with a lovely jaccuzzi. We would gladely return often if it was closer to Stockholm, Sweden. :-)

Easy walk to beach, quick drive into Tofino, house is light and airy, perfect for a long or short stay. We were out and about day and night so didn't really utilize all the features provided. Will do so next time!

Second stay at the Dunes House

This was our second stay at this property . We rented this house about 8 years ago and loved everything about it. the property is close to the beach, coffee shop and the new bike trail. However, we could not help but notice that it is in need of some TLC and looking pretty worn. It would also be nice to have screens on the windows and some outdoor seating that is comfortable. I would still recommend it to others as the benefits out weighed the negatives.

Great North Chesterman Beach location

In keeping with general Tofino ambiance, external siding is weathered but inside is lovely and updated. Property is well-treed with interesting nooks and seating areas, though some external seating cushion-free and uncomfortable. Location fantastic - easy 3 min stroll to beach and 10 min walk to coffee, groceries, ice cream, tacos, burgers and bikes. Tofino is 5-10 minutes away by car. **Also Check DriveBC to get highway 4 status info - highway delays in our trips were 2-3 hours.* I found Communication with rental agent to be curt and slow, which is why I ranked that aspect low. As just one example, access instructions didn’t appear on my VRBO app even in day before checkin. So I sent email via VRBO app asking for access instructions 24 hours before check-in and still had not heard back the next day, 10 minutes before check-in! I had to call and agent did text access code immediately. Agent blamed issue on VRBO and then subsequently noted that access info was buried in a confirmation e-mail (outside VRBO app) sent 4 months prior - apparently my fault for not noticing

The perfect vacation house!

My roommates and I stayed here for a little staycation/surf trip and the house was amazing! Very tidy when we arrived and the hot tub was such a lovely bonus! The location was perfect, so close to the beach, town, and tacofino etc. All in all would 100% stay here again!
