The good: The pre-stay communication was good. Check in easy, no problem with the door code etc. The condo itself is very nice and it was clean. The furniture was comfortable. The grounds are small but nice and the pools were cleaned daily. We didn't use the hot tubs but saw several people who did and they looked great, hot and very bubbly!! The ocean view ,. perfect from the 8th floor, was gorgeous and we saw some passing dolphins on our last day.
The not so good: the pink bracelets that were provided will allow you to use the pools but NOT the fitness center. We went down to use it one day and were politely told that we had to leave and that the fitness center was for the residents only. This feature should be removed from the listing or alternative bracelets provided.
Linens: there were a grand total of 4 towels in the whole condo, 3 bath towels (one of which had a really gross stain on it) and exactly one kitchen towel. I contacted the owner re and he confirmed that was all there were. This is unacceptable. First of all, 3 people need more than 3 (but only two useable) bath towels for a 4 night stay where there is a pool. And, a single kitchen towel is also ridiculous. We're not big on cooking and clean up on vacation but doing the bare minimum still requires more kitchen towels. After my contact, the owner indicated he'd have more brought, that never happened.
Although it is included in the listing, there is no blow dryer. Again, I contacted him and he said he'd pick one up. Never heard about it again.
The maybes: there is a very small beach accessed by a small path down the rocky slope. At low tide the tidepools are great and lots of fun, at high tide there is no sand whatsoever. This was fine with us but if you're planning on spending more than a few hours at low tide (morning, late afternoon) on the beach with kids or whatever, you'd have to go somewhere else. Also, the access is easy for a person with no mobility issues but if you're not secure jumping down a rock or two that could be a problem.
The location: its right next to the old Calafia. In fact, the dirt road exit says "Calafia" . This is a corner unit on the south side so the view off the balcony to the right is the resort but, to the left, is pretty crappy. This wasn't an issue for us but might be to some.
Overall, we had a great stay and if the owner purchased lots of towels and a blow dryer I'd have nothing to complain about.
