The flight from Lisbon to Porto cost me just 10€!! Porto has a number of international connections (schengen area mostly, if not all)
The building of the Railway Station of Maia. This railway line was opened in 1932 and you go by train from Porto to Guimarães.
The section between Senhora da Hora and Trofa was closed in 2002 because of the construction of the Metro do Porto.
Ever since the old railway line functions as a Ecovia, which stands for a walking and cycling path. Many people use this 5km stretch of asphalt for recreational activities nowadays. Even the station's building was restored recently and it is a restaurant now. A great example how to transfer old #infrastructure into something new and useful!
