Mount Lovcen is one of the highest peaks in Montenegro. The National Park can be visited as a quick trip from Kotor. Along the way, the views over the Bay of Kotor are phenomenal, as you climb higher and higher into the mountains. It's best to visit Lovcen on a clear day so you have the best view.

View over Boka bay from the winding road going from Kotor to Lovcen national park.

In the park there is a mausoleum, from which you have great views over the mountains (entrance fee both for the park and the mausoleum).
Unfortunately, there is no public transport to go to Lovcen, so we had to go by car (we asked the tourist office in Kotor for tours). Anyway, the best views over the bay are from the road leading to the park, so it is convenient to use private transport and stop along the way to take pictures.
