The Rim Trailhead

We stayed at this hotel the 3rd week of July 2026. The property was clean, but the rooms need to be maintained a bit better with some paint as it looked a bit weathered. We did get that room that we had booked on Expedia, which was nice. I’ve thing that we did not like was that we were not able to leave our dog unattended in our room, even to eat dinner in the hotel. I understand that may be their policy as some dogs may bark if left in the room alone (ours would not). The hotel had taken our cell numbers at check-in so they could be call at any point if there was a complaint with the dog. If I would have known about this policy when booking, I would have booked another hotel that allowed dogs as it made it very inconvenient for us.

The restaurant experience was very disappointing: my pizza crust was burned, and I was ignored for over 20 minutes while the staff was busy on their phones. On top of that, having only one bathroom shared between three tipis—with 4 people in each—is completely impractical. That being said, the place itself is beautiful and the overall concept is great, but the service and basic amenities definitely need to step up to match what they charge.

What a bummer! Cute decor, but old building, smelled of mold, lights flickered, room was tiny and extremely dark. Dings in the floor and all over the walls. Temu decor in an otherwise old building.
