Unique & Characterful 16th Century Cottage w/own driveway 2 Min Walk to Village!

10/10 Excellent

"Zentrale Lage, trotzdem ruhig gelegen, man ist in 2-3 Min. Zu Fuß im Zentrum. Sehr altes Cottage, urig, allerdings auch niedriger Decke im EG (max. für Personen bis 1,80 cm geeignet). Wetter war eher kühl, weshalb es eine Wohltat war, am Abend den Kaminofen anzuheizen (zudem sehr romantisch). Kontaktloser Check-in, jedoch mit einem warmen Willkommensgruß u. Scones fürs erste Frühstück. Küche ist mit ausreichend Geschirr ausgestattet, ein Topf mehr würde nicht schaden. Super ist auch der eigene Parkplatz auf dem Grundstück, welches kleiner ist, als es von den Fotos her scheint. Den Freisitz konnte man wetterbedingt nicht nützen, neben der Mülltonne auch nicht einladend. Wir empfehlen es trotzdem rundum, wobei das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis grenzwertig ist."

"The staff was absolutely amazing. When I was lost at midnight, I called Corinne and she talked me through step by step directions. The breakfast staff was absolutely incredible:friendly, fun, and super helpful. Breakfast was delicious and the porridge was the best I’ve ever had. If I could improve one thing, it would be that our bed was very hard, but that could be easily remedied with a pillow top mattress pad. This hotel was perfect for a stay in the Cotswolds!"

"Charming inn right at the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water. It was a short walk to the shops and pubs/restaurants of the town. Chose it because it had a room that would accommodate three ladies on our little tour of the Cotswolds. Our room had two separate bedrooms, one with a large bed and then another with two twin beds. Bathroom was updated and roomy with a full tub and shower. Would be perfect for a family also. The inn was built in 1698 and has historical charm, but was nicely renovated. Lovely restaurant which we didn't have a chance to try, and a sitting area where we had coffee. Everyone was lovely and kind. Would highly recommend."

18th century period holiday cottage in the Cotswolds with garden - Lavender Cottage, Bourton

"We had a fantastic stay at Lavender Cottage during the May half-term holiday. The cottage itself is quite small, but it worked perfectly for us as a family of four plus our dog. We loved its quirky character, especially the uneven floors upstairs, which added to its charm. The beds were very comfortable, and the cottage was spotless when we arrived. What really makes this cottage stand out is its location in Bourton-on-the-Water. It is right in the heart of the village, with all the main attractions within a 10-minute walk and the river just 25 metres from the front door. When we arrived, all of the free parking spaces outside the cottage were occupied, so we unloaded the car and parked overnight in one of the local car parks. However, we discovered that most of the cars using the free spaces left by around 7pm, so we were able to move our car into a free spot the following morning. Most of the spaces were then taken again by around 9am each day. As we had our dog with us, we were pleased to find some lovely walks through the local fields directly behind the cottage. We would definitely recommend Lavender Cottage and would love to return for another stay in the future."

"Location is great. Few blocks from town center and very quiet. Studio upstairs from bedroom with two sofa’s and large TV. Very comfortable. Owner helpful to arrange for a taxi to next village. Improvements could be for towel racks in bathroom, bigger shelf(s) for toiletries, plugin’s for electrical adaptor next to bed."
