"The room was compact but warm and cosy. Spotlessly clean. Enjoyed the use of a bathrobe.
Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice and a quirky use of crockery"
"The staff were very friendly and helpful, the receptionist had booked guests in a million times and was very efficient. The young waitress who served me was originally from Kent and l recognised her accent from coming from where l used to live.
My room 101 was a nice location, full view of the Scotch Corner roundabout and could see the snow and when it was clear so l could get on my way to continue my journey to Scotland. It really is in a fantastic location.
Breakfast was good the chef made the best porridge in the North East so he tells me. "
"This was our 2nd stay.
Staff friendly room was great. Rooms nice and warm on a cold December night looking out over market square.
Staff great so honest I lost my ring and it was found in the room. I was so grateful the ring was so sentimental to me.
I emailed the owner Jon and he replied straight away.
I will definitely stay here again."
"Absolutely loved our stay at this Richmond cottage. It has the most amazing view of the village of Richmond including the Castle and the Falls. The hosts were great, provided a nice welcoming basket and there was lots of local travel information on the coffee table. It was nice that the all the rooms were on one floor - and the wash room with a tumble dryer was a great feature. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom with a large tub and separate shower was great. There is a separate toilet room by the wash room, so another nice feature. We ate most dinners in, and found the kitchen to be stocked with the basics (salt, pepper, oil), and lots of different baking and cooking pans and such. One of the reasons we picket this cottage was it offered off-street parking - which was true, but the drive way is very narrow so best to back in, which was a bit tricky at first but soon got the hang of it. Some of the rooms face the street, so some road noise, but that should be expected when staying in a village. Would happily stay here again as it was a great location to explore Yorkshire!"
"I loved the Turf hotel. We were late arriving but the young lady stayed on site until we arrived. That alone is worthy of a good review. The room was fine, a little run down but certainly not a problem. The bedding was fantastic, plenty of pillows and a lovely warm duvet. We were only there briefly, we left straight after breakfast (which was really nice). Everybody we spoke to was super happy & helpful. I think we'll be back in the area soon and the Turf will be my first phone call for accommodation. "
