"This little apartment was wonderful - cozy, clean and well-appointed with everything you could want or need and spacious enough to really spread out. By American standards the bathrooms are great and there was a king-sized bed! We really appreciated being able to do some laundry. The town of Silvermines is very quiet (only one pub that doesn't serve food, but is a hoot - my husband had a great time chatting with people). "From the minute we stepped foot into this property, we felt at home. We were met with sparkling clean accommodations, breathtaking views, a bowl of fruit on the table, and coffee and teabags in the counter! The rooms were all comfortable and attractive, the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, utensils, towels, tea pots, coffee press, sugar, spices, etc. We had a wonderful holiday at Shannon View, and recommend it highly! "We were visiting Kilkenny and chose Kate’s Rest to stay at. The owner was so kind and took the time to chat and help us with anything we needed, it was a very personable experience. We stayed in a beautiful apartment (we had one double and two twin beds) what came with a kitchen and lovely open shower. The views are unbelievable and it was a great location. "All aspects of the hotel are excellent What stood out for us on out recent visit was the attitude and standards of all the staff. The accommodation is a very good standard with excellent gym, pool and spa facilities. The breakfast was also excellent. The coffee lounge was well used, and provided us with a lovely luncheon box on for our visit to the airport. The charming, friendly and very hard working staff everywhere added so much to our impressions and experience. We will revisit, and recommend to others. "

"As an academic I have trouble giving more than 9/10 but this property is 12/10. Staff in all areas particularly reception were amazingly helpful well beyond any 5 star big city hotel. The hotel is a brilliant older building in excellent condition. In house fining brilliant - bfsst and dinner. Value is outstanding. Rooms are a little tight but what can one expect. "

Lisheen Castle, Beautifully Restored, Perfect Central Location for Day Tripping

Perfect for a wedding week

"This was perfect for a destination wedding. We spent a couple days at the castle relaxing and prepping a little for the wedding. After the wedding day we had several days to explore a number of places. Zane was wonderful in helping arrange a catered meal for the 12 of us in the formal dining room one night. The photos of the wedding of course are stunning with the house/castle and gardens as the backdrop. "

"Our stay was an absolute dream! Lorna and Peter provided a one of a kind experience. Upon arrival we were giving a tour of the farm and grounds, then a walk through our cottage, which was clean, well maintained and full of activities. Lorna then invited us to check out the afternoon milking, then meet and PET the cows and then young calfs who were curious enough to walk over. Then we met the farm horse Drift, who couldn't have been friendlier. The two dogs are adorably cute and the chickens are always wandering about. The landscaping and attention to detail is so impressive. The garden is professional grade of course. We only wish we had stayed TWO NIGHTS instead of one. Don't make our mistake. The morning arrived with fresh scones, massive eggs from the hens, and cold milk from the cows. Just magical!!"

"Our group was five adults…we had ample space to spread out and also have privacy. The home was well equipped, very clean, and smelled fabulous. The hosts provided a lovely welcome basket, and were very responsive to all inquiries and even provided guidance for places to visit and dine. Would definitely recommend for anyone staying in the area… I think I actually picked this house before I picked the area! Lovely stay! "
