Beautiful building in a run down property Good restaurant and nteakfadt

The hotel was exceptionally clean and the breakfast was ok. We had a meal there too which was good. Reception staff were really not very friendly or at all helpful when we had a problem accessing our room. Our room key card didn’t work, we were in the 9th floor at the end of a long corridor and had lots of baggage. Fortunately a cleaner was in the corridor and let us into the room and said we needed a real key from Reception. We phoned down to Reception who were very short and sharp and just said to pick it up when we went down. We picked the key up and that didn’t work either. We had no choice but to go back to Reception and they sent the maintenance man. He couldn’t get the key to work either so went himself to get another key. We had just spent two weeks in Italy in various places and people had all been very friendly and helpful. This was not the experience we had at this hotel and would not stay there again.

Good location to visit Bari and surrounding towns. But...bedding stiff, no complementary water and, the deal breaker, poor AC. Despite our repeated complaints (we stayed for three nights), the room was quite uncomfortable to sleep in; can't imagine how it would be in July/August. It must be that they "throttle" the AC to keep the power bill down. We turned down the thermostat, miserable air flow in any case only to wake up because of the heat: the thermostat was "magically" reset to 23C in the middle of the night. Not acceptable and less so in a "four" star hotel. If you value sleeping in a reasonably air conditioned room, after a beautiful day touring, this is not the place for you. Salute!
