  • Inspired by @williamJones I went down to south Florida. I also went down to visit family :D. Granted, I had to capture a few landscapes along the way. I left Atlanta at 3:30 PM and got into Key Largo at 3:00 AM. Slept for a couple hours in my car and went in search of a sunrise. I hoped to find a dock falling into the water, but this was just as good. I also went from 37 degrees to 74 degrees. That was interesting.

Great location for Key Largo sunrise

Quick, first trip to the Florida Keys and unfortunately only two nights in Key Largo. This location was convenient to a variety of local activities and restaurants, and both comfortable and quiet. A short morning walk to the pier on the waterfront provided a stunning sunrise and several memorable pics. The unit was well equipped and provided all needed amenities. We've already talked about returning to Key Largo and will certainly look at this location again.

Beautiful View, Could use some maintenence

At the time I rented this place, there were different photos on the listing. Furniture shown initially was newer and more modern. About a week before our arrival, I noticed the pictures changed to different furniture and decor and the beautiful picture of the beach was missing. Each time I did this, it took a while to get a response. When we arrived, check in was offsite but went smoothly, the condo looked like the newer photos with older furniture (bummer!). The place was tidy and had clean bedding and towels, but cabinets and floor were filthy like they hadn't been wiped down in a very long time. And remotes weren't working so we had to swap out batteries. Sticky finger prints all over the cabinets, and when you put a white towel on the floor to soak up water, it came up very dirty. Additionally, my oldest son and his girlfriend planned to stay on the hideabed but the bed was broken and un-level and you could feel the support bars through the mattress. I had to take pillows off other beds to give them pillows. The other beds were comfy though. We reached out to management about this and they said they would have maintenence look at it but that didn't happen before our second night so we left early. The view from the 4th floor of the condo was nice, and the towels and waters they left were nice. The beach area looked like it needed some maintenence as well. I think the resort needs to hire some more adequate staff. Its in an awesome location!

Ocean Pointe 3205

Kitchen floor was sticky upon arrival. Later we noticed the bottom of our feet were black after coming out of the shower and walking on the dark carpet- suspect the carpet had not been clean for a long time. No beach/pool towels. We have stayed six times in a number of units at Ocean Pointe, this was the worst. Poor quality on some of the trim and/or repairs to the unit walls. No finishing trim on the carpet to the master closet. Unit needs some more TLC. On the good side - Appliances were nice, washer and dryer was fairly new.
