Badia Vecchia Apartment

English-style mansion built in 1939 by the rich old owner Sir. Robert Pretty Barlow, admirer of beauty and good living. A precursor of modern gay culture, he hosted writers, painters and illustrious travelers. He himself a traveler, helped to make Taormina known to many of his countrymen and others.
The apartment is located on the first floor of the house in a very central and panoramic position, overlooking the Etna, the Bay of Giardini Naxos and the Badia Vecchia, one of the most significant monuments of the city.

Absolutely amazing stay in Taormina!! Furio and his wife made checking in and finding parking for our car completely seamless. The apartment was in a perfect location to access all of the sights in Taormina and was well equipped, including water and a mocha pot for coffee. The host also recommended great food stops in the city and even helped us get a reservation last minute after check in. Would highly recommend!!

Amazing views and location!

Our hosts were terrific! They suggested several places to eat and all were great. The location is superb for visiting Taormina - a three minute walk to main area. Wonderful stay!

The apartment itself is perfect. There’s basically a view of a small portion of the Mediterranean Sea. It’s very loud due to the cars and motorcycles going by and smells like diesel exhaust. Please do not bring a car using the valet without a place to get into your car was a nightmare. I thought the decor in the living room was a little insensitive.

Furio was an excellent host!’

Upon our arrival we were met by the property owner Furio who spent time answering questions and giving us insight into places for grocery shopping, laundry, beach and restaurants. He made himself available for any other questions for the duration of our stay. Definitely would recommend this place.

Beautiful Town, Beautiful People

Did a couple of day trips while visiting. Mount Etna hiking is a must!! Gorgeous hiking and amazing food and wine after our hike.

A dream vacation!

Furio's apartment is so lovely and in a great location, but the real bonus is how hospitable and helpful Furio was during our stay. From picking us up at the bus stop to helping us with dinner reservations, it could not have been a nicer stay!

Our host gave us all the info to make our stay wonderful. Great location to everything we needed They arranged off site parking for 20 € a day. Breakfast buffet at the hotel across from us for 10€ pp. excellent food there also the restaurant had a rooftop bar Great food Our host was awesome. Highly recommend.

Was a perfect quiet spot just outside the main walking roads. Furio was very welcoming and made sure our trip went perfect. He even offered a shuttle service to and from certain beaches. Would recommend.

Amazing Taormina

Our wonderful host Furio could not have been more helpful, so thoughtful welcoming us with a bottle of Etna Red Wine. Location was superb, easy to access everything. Furio took care of our car, helped with local restaurants and pointed us in the right direction to experience amazing Arancini.

Perfect stay in Taormina

Property was as described. Excellent location, with good beds and amenities. Our host/owner Furio was responsive and offered excellent advice. Train station was a short drive for travel to Siracusa and later to Salerno. Easy access to Etna wine region and nearby towns. We stayed 3 nights which was our only regret as we should have stayed longer.
