Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kanazawa Miyabi

"Smaller rooms, as is typical of Japan. Firm beds, which is also typical of Japan. We liked that it was close to the station and quiet and clean. We did the breakfast one morning and found it plentiful and tasty. The TV actually had a few English channels, which we appreciated."

"The room was very clean and spacious. Bathtub is full sized, and shower had strong pressure. There’s a humidifier in the room for those who need it. Extra amenities (toiletries) were provided at hotel lobby. There were vending machines, microwave, ice machine, and laundry (washer and dryer) on the 2nd floor. We left our bags at the front desk after checkout before it was our time to leave the city, and the staff was very willing to accommodate that. The coffee machine in the lobby was nice. If you are coming from Kanazawa station, it’s easy enough to walk from the station to the hotel, alternatively, the city bus will take you and drop you off right in front of the hotel at the bus stop (some city buses here don’t take IC card, but will take cash or credit card tap-and-go style, so make sure to tap the card once you board and once you get off the bus). Right across from Omicho market which is very convenient."

"New(ish) hotel, just 5 minutes walk east of Kanazawa Station. We enjoyed our 6 night stay. Although breakfast was not included in our rate, we did pay on 2 separate days to have their tasty breakfast buffet, which included breaded shrimp, curry, tuna sashimi, etc. Helpful staff. There is a community park close by with a walking track."

"Really nice hotel close to the station and the Maroot shopping building. Rooms were clean and I particularly liked the shower/bath room. Like quite a few Japanese hotels, the shower and bath (while in the same room) are separate. That means while you shower the bath can be filling up. It gives you the Japanese option of washing yourself clean in the shower and then getting into a hot bath to relax straight away. Breakfast was also great - unlike most hotels, someone takes you to your table first so it’s reserved for you. That totally avoids the hassle of getting your food on a tray, and then having to search for a table as happens elsewhere. Food selection was excellent - both Western and Japanese options, and they can cook a Japanese omelette for you on demand. Many drink options as well at breakfast. Staff were helpful - at checkout, checkin, answering my questions and helping forward luggage. Staff at Reception spoke English. 3 combination washer/dryers and for a combined wash/dry cycle it took 2 hours - albeit thats relatively typical. You need a room card for both the room and the lift, but unlike other hotels you don’t need to put it in a slot in the wall to put the power on. Wifi was perfect, and the aircon could be manually controlled. One hotel chain I stayed at last year wouldn’t let you fully control the aircon, but this hotel does so it’s ideal from that perspective. Overall a strong recommend from me for this hotel."
