The Neighborhood:
Neutral Bay is a leafy, harbourside neighbourhood on Sydney's Lower North Shore, prized by professionals and families alike for its village feel and easy access to the city. Military Road is the neighbourhood's main artery, lined with cafes, restaurants and bars serving everything from modern Italian to Japanese, French bistro fare and casual pub food. Away from the bustle of the strip, quiet tree lined streets wind past Federation cottages, Art Deco apartment blocks and contemporary homes, many with glimpses of the Sydney Harbour skyline. For those wanting to stretch their legs, the harbourside path around Kurraba Point and Cremorne Point offers a beautiful waterside stroll with sweeping views towards the city and Harbour Bridge. Don't miss Neutral Bay Wharf, the departure point for regular ferries into Circular Quay and one of the loveliest ways to see Sydney Harbour.
Neutral Bay has long been considered one of the more relaxed and convenient pockets of the Lower North Shore, combining harbour access, green space and a strong local dining scene with a straightforward commute into the city.
There are many things that we recommend you try:
✔ Catch the ferry from Neutral Bay Wharf across to Circular Quay
✔ Wander the harbourside path around Kurraba Point and Cremorne Point
✔ Relax at Anderson Park, a lovely green space with harbour glimpses
✔ Visit Kurraba Point Reserve for water views and a quiet picnic spot
✔ Take in the history at Nutcote, the former home of author and illustrator May Gibbs, now a house museum
✔ Enjoy a drink in the famous beer garden at The Oaks Hotel, a Neutral Bay institution since 1885
✔ Browse the boutiques and everyday shops along Military Road
✔ Pick up groceries at one of the local supermarkets in the Neutral Bay Junction precinct
✔ Grab a coffee at one of the Military Road cafes on your way out for the day
✔ Explore the harbour foreshore at Hayes Street Beach
✔ Take a scenic walk to Cremorne Reserve and Cremorne Point Lighthouse

Public Transport: Victoria Cross Metro Station is around a fifteen minute walk, with North Sydney Station around twenty minutes. The terrain between Neutral Bay and both stations is quite hilly, so you may prefer to catch one of the frequent buses along Military Road rather than walk, particularly with luggage.
