The Hotel is run down. The only saving grace is the restaurant and the staff who do a great job!!

We Booked a Single Twin bed Room, which was not provided. The WiFi was not working Properly. We came from the UK and did not have an India SIM. It became highly difficult for us to communicate with our family and members here in India.

In catering to and expecting international travelers, I would expect a hotel to have electric points adaptable for US plugs. Only certain rooms have it, many others don't. The sizes of the rooms are very small, a queen deluxe room barely has space for 2 persons to keep their bags and squeeze around. There was leakage in many parts of the hotel, including rooms. An ironing board provided by the hotel had a cover sheet which bled color. On using a steam iron for a white shirt, it had severe color stains on the shirt, which happened just a few hours before I was to attend a funeral wearing that white shirt. Lights in the washroom especially the one around the mirror were constantly flashing thereby rendering them unusable. I have pictures of all of the above, but unfortunately I don't see any space on Expedia reviews to upload them. Several guests in rooms on our floor kept the doors open with a lot of loud talking, laughing etc which was disturbing and annoying and no action was taken by the hotel management to curtail such behavior. Would consider twice before booking at Ginger Surat again.

Good location
Nice hotel. Clean room and friendly staffs. There are supermarket, shopping malls, coffee shops, restaurants nearby. It's in a convenient location. But this hotel doesn't offer amenities, you can buy from reception desk or bring your own.

Nice hotel but There was not ordinary tea bags.
Staff was friendly pay for breakfast but haven’t tried. masala tea was nice.they must have extra pillows.

Friendly hotel close to river estuary
This cosy hotel located near the Tapi River bank has friendly and responsible staff at reception and restaurant. Room is clean and adequate space-wise. Breakfast consists of a variety of bread/roti, cereals, juices and fresh fruits. Good value for business and casual travellers alike!

OKAY Hotel
It is a no service hotel so I didn't expect any customer service from them. Bedsheets were not looking like new and pillow were really old. Overall it was OKAY but for the price I would recommend to others.

Good location & food but poor service 2/5 stars
The staff is not good. Location of hotel is fantastic. Food is very tasty. Service quality is awful. I made a call for snacks at 5pm when I called back at 5:45pm they replied "what was your order sir, we are sorry the previous person left for the day"....I called room service for laundry and they in turn asked me to come at reception and collect my cloths at 7am. I accidentally dropped my dishes while dinner at my room. The next day when I came back to room in the evening, I found the dishes still under my bed. You need to call for everything starting from a towel, soap, water bottle (complementary) and you will get it atleast after half an hour or so....If I consider food and location, its a fantastic hotel, I got tempted because of location & booked it....when it comes to service quality and cleanliness, its awful!!

Close to the shopping center
We stayed 4 days without WiFi, I asked FD can't fix it, took my phone for 2 hours , I missed all my business work and email. I need my money back at least 50%, breakfast was good, rooms r dirty

mattresses are not great
over booking, so, they do not have enough space to accommodate all the guests at the time breakfast

just about OK
staff were ok - AC was bad and room was smaller even though i took a better room. AC were all window, which are hardly used by any one these days. more power waste and not cool.
And water is one more bug problem, i had rashes on my body after 3 days of bath - i take bath 2 times in a day. Water was more like sea water, salty and I am not sure why. WIFI was always not working, they have sessions that logs me out every 30 mins and more over it didnt work for 2 days continuously.
Overall experience was not so great.

just about OK
At about 2800 INR this is just an average hotel. There are other cheaper and better options available in Surat which one can explore if we want cheaper hotel and if we require better amenities then TAJ Gateway is close by with a price range from 4800 to 5500. So Ginger doesn't fit in either category.

Expected Ginger to be a bit more professional and comfortable. The room was not clean. The wi-fi was not working. When I called to complain the answer was that we have had no problem before. Staff at the breakfast area was rude and unwelcoming.
