We had to spend more than 15 minutes proving that we had indeed booked a room at this hotel. Once we finally accessed the room, several issues became apparent. "The park was amazing, the safari trips were incredible, the people were so friendly and the food was delicious. The only con was the steep stairs to get up to our room with only a handrail on one side and we’re 69! So be sure to ask if you have stairs to climb to get to your room!"

The Palace of the Lost City at Sun City Resort

"The room and palace hotel were amazing. It was a great way to start our trip to South Africa. The breakfast was delicious. Shuttle around the resort was prompt and the staff was very helpful at helping you plan activities. The resort had walking trails and a great pool. Pool isn’t heated in the winter but you can go to a nearby hotel to swim."

"This place was amazing! The staff was so friendly and recognized me every time I came to eat. I felt safe walking alone even at night. The food was amazing, the spa staff was great, the rooms were beautiful. The game day drives were unbelievable. I loved this place and have to say this was vacation is in my top 3! "Sun city Cabanas far exceeded our expectations. Great value for money with a superb buffet, cooked breakfast included. Rooms were nice and grounds immaculate. Activities available were very good and just a walk around golf course on paths was beautiful. Dorah at concierge before and during visit was amazing. Highly recommend a stay here."

"Lovely lodge but the rooms are a bit tired and the housekeeping team could do with improving the amenities in the rooms as well as the turn down service which is currently messy and inconsistent. The main lodge staff, including servers, front desk, and chefs were all welcoming, friendly and helpful. Food was always fresh and delicious. Changing high tea to a lunch would be a good move in my opinion. Highlight of the trip was the Guide Cameron who went out of his way to give everyone on his vehicle an excellent and memorable safari experience. His sense of humour, knowledge, care for his guests was above and beyond expectation. He also had an obvious passion for the location and lodge. Overall a great experience - including the Elephants drinking out the pool!"
