"Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is right across from the hotel, making it a lovely location. I think it’s a good choice for visitors from overseas who feel worn out by the crowds around Shinjuku Station.
The hotel has a large communal bath, which is a good opportunity to learn Japanese bathing etiquette before visiting an onsen. If you have tattoos, be sure to check the hotel’s policy.
Breakfast includes typical Japanese options—try the small packs of natto with rice! Bread is also available.
If you tend to get lost in Shinjuku Station, you can leave through the Southeast Exit and walk toward the hotel, using an underground passage for part of the way. It takes a little navigating, but it’s doable. If you’re comfortable following the line names and station numbers on the signs, you could also transfer to another train for the final stretch.
A taxi from Shinjuku Station is a short ride, costing roughly the base fare or one additional fare increment. If you have lots of luggage and the driver helps you load and unload it despite such a short trip, I personally think offering a ¥500–¥1,000 tip is a nice gesture."
