Clay Banks Retreat is a quiet property away from the fray of northern Door County, yet close enough to enjoy shopping and fish boil, pontoon boating, walking the beach, and hiking. It was the perfect place for our group of four couples to reconnect and spend quality time together.
We’ve stayed in five different homes in the area and this is by far the best! Immaculately kept, great location and welcoming host. Couldn’t have been better!
Comfortablly spacious for our 3 families. Each bedroom had its own full bathroom! Internet was a little unstable but we enjoyed our unplugged time as much as possible. Kitchen was well stocked. Loved all the natural light and location was nice and remote.
The house was very clean, so well stocked and sitting on an absolutely beautiful piece of God’s Country. The location was great for visiting the bustling door county peninsula during the day and then returning to peace and quiet at night. Great beach just down the road with a wonderful sunrise each morning!
Had an enjoyable stay with our family. Listing was as advertised. There was plenty of space for everyone and many activities for us. Owners were very responsive to any questions we had. Would definitely stay here again!!
The house was honestly the cleanest rental I have ever been in! The property was beautiful! The host was quick to respond as well! Overall great experience!
We really enjoyed the home with wheel chair access for both bedrooms on the main floor - beautiful, clean, and spacious. Our group was us grandparents, our adult son and daughter, and special needs grand daughter. We had a great time with day trips in Door County. The wheel chair ramp to the lookout tower at Peninsula St. Park was amazing. Our host did a great job communicating with us.
Exactly as advertised. No suprises. Plenty of space and amenities to spread out or gather together. Plenty of bathrooms and sleeping spaces. Short drive to anywhere in door county. Lots of hidden treasures in sturgeon bay area.
We had a wonderful weekend staying at this property. It was clean, in a great location and slept all 16 of us very comfortably. We were just outside of the hustle and bustle of Door County, just 2 miles from a beach but also close enough that it took only 20min+ to get into town and enjoy those areas. We utilized the outdoor games available. The host was prompt on answer any and all questions.
We had the best time in Door County and Clay Bank’s Retreat made all the difference since it is big enough for our group. All the things that we might need for meal prep, cooking, cleaning, laundry, trip to the beach, games are all available. The host is gracious to let us have an early check - in. We definitely rate this property 10/10!
This home is beautiful, peaceful, and so well suited for the needs of all ages. A main floor with a walk in shower for the great grandparents to the downstairs super fun bunkbed room with beanbag chairs for the kids, very comfortable gathering areas indoor and outdoor, and indoor and outdoor games suited to bringing the generations together, this was a home we so enjoyed for our reunion. The kitchen is very well stocked for your cooking needs, and Darelynn is such a gracious host who has added the thoughtful touches to make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommended!
My husband and I booked this wonderful home to spend some time with our 3 grown children and their families - there were 13 of us all together. The house , property and amenities were perfect for us. We had plenty of room and the kids loved the bunk room. The house was so well stocked! Plenty of everything you could think of including all kinds of indoor and outdoor games. We had a great time exploring Doir County and then coming back to hang out at the house.
This house was a perfect home for our family of 7 adults and 4 grandkids. It was spacious, clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well stocked with everything and anything you may need, including a large table big enough for all of us to have meals together and to play games on. The family loved the bonfires and outdoor games and the grandkids loved playing with all the toys that were provided. We loved visiting Door County parks, beaches, shopping and Pirates Cove! Our host, Darelynn, was excellent. She was so kind to allow us to check in early, she was so thoughtful (having beach towels for all of us, extra chairs, beach bags, etc.) and she was great at communicating all that we needed to know about the property, home, etc. In the home, there was a sign on the wall that said, "God's County". This home and the area truly felt that way. We highly recommend this home and plan on coming back to visit in the future.
This was just perfect for our family trip to Door County! The house was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed everything… from the well stocked kitchen, to the outdoor space. We enjoyed pudgy pies around the fire pit, while we laughed and made memories. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We would definitely love to come back!
Everything was exactly as defined. Beautiful, clean house, and great country location. We had deer in the yard almost daily. Relaxing location, yet close enough to town an activities. Definitely would rent again!
