The Hideaway- authentic Dalmatian stone house with a pool Hvar island

If you prefer peace & tranquility, away from the busy life, waking up to the sound of village church bells in the heart of a traditional Dalmatian village, then this is your place.

A stylishly renovated traditional Dalmatian house in the village of Vrbanj in the heart of Hvar island. An area of ancient olive groves and vineyards and yet a short drive to a nearby vibrant harbour towns of Jelsa (3km), Vrboska (4km) & the oldest town in Croatia, Stari Grad (7km) - founded by ancient Greeks.

The Hideaway has 3 floors as well as a self contained apartment by the pool. There are 3 cozy bedrooms {2 with private terraces}, two shower bathrooms and one bathroom featuring old English metal bath. The apartment also feature a mini kitchenette.
Altogether, there are 3 upper terraces, roofed outdoor terrace, large front terrace as well as the pool area, providing various views to the back and front of the house. The whole house is surrounded by magnificent stone walls offering privacy yet giving you elevated open views towards the ancient UNESCO protected Stari Grad Plain as well as a panoramic view of the neighbouring island of Brac.

Vrbanj is a vibrant village, once the largest producer of wine on Hvar island. We are fortunate to have an award winning winemaker the Family Pavicic in the village, from whom you can purchase delicious wines, as well as attend their wine tasting. Pavicic wines are sold in many noteworthy restaurants on the island. In the center of the village (2 min walk from the house) you will find a small shop where friendly Rosa sells daily freshly baked bread. Close to the shop is the village bar and a short stroll towards the church, you can find a local pizzeria Bogo.

The village is on a popular cycling route through the vineyards and olive groves, connecting the harbours of Jelsa and Stari Grad. As Hvar island is only 5 km across the location of The Hideaway is a perfect starting point for exploring the surrounding ancient mountain villages and numerous local beaches, trendy cafes and water sport- boating, stand up boarding, swimming, even diving. Hvar has it all.

But if you prefer to swim in the pool, sunbathe or chill in a shady terrace, enjoy alfresco dining or barbecuing, even practicing yoga on one of terraces, The Hideaway provides it all. Massage treatments and private yoga classes can also be organised on request.

The Hideaway is for those who want to escape the noise and the crowds, allowing you to wind down. Giving you a quiet time to rest and spend time with yourself and your loved ones. This is the place for those who enjoy to experience the authentic and traditional.
