"Traditional style hotel, friendly, courteous staff throughout the stay, room was small but had everything we needed for our one night stay, clean bathroom, although the showers water pressure wasn't the best. Excellent evening meal and breakfast, located just off the main road, very good for exploring the rest of the village."
"A lovely location to stay for a few days walking.
Owners and staff welcoming and friendly, good food, breakfast & evening, good service. Shepherds huts are clean, warm & cosy.
Within good distance for both Chatsworth House & Bakewell also good walks from the inn.

"Great value for money in a lovely location. Service was excellent throughout our stay. Food was of a very high quality. The accommodation seemed new and nicely designed. All in all a great place to stay!"
"A very nice stay with friendly , welcoming and efficient staff, great evening meal. Pleased with the room, and a 7 minute walk to the botanical gardens and other park. Nice residential area, but plenty of amenities and restaurants nearby. Would like to go back sometime"
"Hotel was excellent - it was great to be able to use the spa facilities (we used the hot tub and sauna but didn't use the pool) as when we were there the weather was rubbish. Dinner and breakfast were great too, as were the staff."
"The staff were all lovely and helpful, the room was beautiful, the bed was comfy and the breakfast was first class - we’ll definitely be back if we have another event in Sheffield!"
"The perfect spot to enjoy the Chatsworth Estate and walk to the house.

"From arrival to departure... the experience was wonderful! We stayed in the three shepherds huts which are beautifully updated to a very high standard. Dinner was DELISH as was breakfast. AVOID paying via hotels.com because it caused serious checkout problems... but NOT the fault of The Plough Inn -- WE LOVED IT! "
"Bike and Boot is a classy unpretensious hotel with great facilities and delightful staff. Easy access by train and bus and the centre of miles of great footpaths."
"Delightful old hilltop inn with commanding views over the Dales.
Friendly efficient staff.
Very well appointed spacious modern room ( Barrel).
Excellent stylish dinner: there is a chef behind the scenes!
Attractive base for walking/ touring"
"Great traditional country pub. Really friendly and helpful staff. Room comfortable. Only issue a bit of noise from the kitchen fans in the evening. Good food options "
"The host never got in touch with us. We was out hiking in the Peak District and was on edge as the host wasn’t replying to us. Calling kept going to voicemail. We raised this issue with customer support however they couldn’t get in touch either so they had to cancel our booking and refund us. So we had to drive home after waiting outside of the property and spend even more money on fuel also. Absolutely shocking. Hopefully this host is removed from the site for wasting our time. I also expect this to be taken further as we want to be reimbursed for the fuel costs and overall hassle this has caused. "
