"Fantastic location. Ideal for what we needed but also really rural-feeling and peaceful. We found it quiet and charming. We enjoyed wandering in amongst the old orchard and down through the copse, across the scrubland that forms part of the floodplain of the Tyne. It was good to know there are badgers around although we weren’t lucky enough to see anyway. The dawn chorus was impressive. Very pleasant indeed. Definitely will book again if we’re back in the area. "

"Where to start, it was cheaper than most places in Newcastle but still wasn't worth what we paid. No air-conditioning, the kitchen drain smelled terrible, the toilet leaked, there were toenails in the bathroom, originally put in a two bedded room when there was 3 of us, very hot stuffy room, unable to open window properly as there was a chain lock preventing us. Beds were clean and fairly comfy."

"Stayed at Malmaison Newcastle for a business trip and had a great experience. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, making it easy to relax after a long day. The Quayside location is excellent, with plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. The breakfast was excellent, with a good choice of freshly cooked options alongside a buffet offering pastries, fresh fruit, granola and hot drinks. Friendly staff and a smooth check-in made for a hassle-free stay. Would happily stay again."

"The hotel car park was full, so had to park on Old Quarry Road, which was a five minute walk. The reception smelled nice and the staff were friendly and quick to serve us. The WiFi was very good. The room view was ok; the building opposite, but not terrible. The room itself was fine, the table was worn and looked tired, the bath was also looking old. The whole room was clean. The air trickle vent was snapped and damaged, this didn’t look great. There should have been some USB ports to use, as opposed to normal plugs. The telly was good, the bed was clean and comfortable and the AC was good. The shower and bath worked well and the kettle and iron were fine but awkward to fill the kettle and the ironing board needs replacing, it’s the lumpiest thing since my grandma’s gravy. The breakfast was ok; tasted fine, I would say start the cleaning cycle on the machine after the guests leave and the latte coffee spirts milk all over, this hurt my hand. The bar was fine, and the snack cupboard also was a nice feature."

Such a great selection for breakfast: hot food, cereals, fruit, selection of pastries, meat, cheese, breads and including gluten free options as well.
