"This is a high-volume hotel that feels “tired” and overdue for renovation, aside from a few areas like the conference section. The hallways are dim, carpeting is worn, elevator buttons don’t light up, etc. Despite charging a $35 resort fee, if you want to actually "beach it" for a few hours, a beach chair comes with a $29 rental fee. In our room, the outlets were loose and unreliable for charging, and the toilet continued running for a couple of minutes after flushing. There was no hair dryer (we did get one), and the bathroom didn’t feel particularly clean, with a stained vanity. It's overpriced and dated. On the positive side, the gym is bright and well-equipped, though it needs better ventilation —it was uncomfortably hot. The staff, however, were friendly and professional. I'm not a Starbucks fan so I was delighted there was a Dunkin directly across the street that opened at 5:30 am."

The beachfront location alone is worth it—soft white sand, breathtaking sunsets, and easy access to the water make every day feel like a dream getaway. What really sets this resort apart is the atmosphere. It’s incredibly family-friendly with endless activities, from water sports to poolside fun, yet still relaxing enough for adults to unwind. There’s always something to do, but it never feels overwhelming. The staff is welcoming and helpful, adding to the overall positive experience. The amenities are a huge plus—multiple pools, on-site dining, and plenty of entertainment options right at your fingertips. It’s the kind of place where you can stay on property the entire time and never get bored. While some areas of the rooms could use a bit of updating, everything was clean and comfortable, and honestly, you’ll spend most of your time enjoying the beach anyway. Overall, TradeWinds is a great choice for a fun, memorable beach vacation. Whether you’re traveling with family or just looking to relax by the ocean, it’s a place you’ll want to come back to."

"Great location 5 minute walk to the pier. Rooms have great view of the marina and pool and the beach. Room spacious and clean and super comfortable beds. Restaurant on first floor is decent and really nice staff, good prices for the area. Great pool and deck. Only complaint is no ice machine that we could find. Keep in mind Clearwater beach is a lively party type area and you will hear the music and fireworks from the pier. "

"The resort is nice however the infrastructure is showing its age. The elevators acted up with one not stopping on our floor even when floor button lit. It took two tries up and down before it opened on the ground floor and we walked up. That elevator was down for maintenance the next day. We were offered an upgrade to a beach view suite with Juliette balcony. It was a beautiful view and suite was clean and comfortable. However the sliding door to open the balcony was extremely hard to open & close with the handle very loose. We ended up not opening. Bathroom plumbing was showing age. The only deal breaker was the elevator. Otherwise it was a nice stay."
