Enjoyed our stay on the beach and the house accommodated our needs. The down side was that there were no Hand Rails on any of the steps going to the 2nd & 3rd floors, and garage doors didn’t work and were partially open. To say it accommodates 14 people and have minimal spaces for cars was hard. I’m sure this had something to do with the last hurricane and that they are still in the fixing stages. But would have been nice if we were told ahead of time. Once these items are fixed it will be a nice place to stay.

Million dollar view

We enjoyed our weeks stay. We would welcome staying again because of the location and the view.. The unit itself was outdated.. needs new king mattress and pillows and window blinds, among other things. The outdoor deck railings need replacing. Upon arriving, found a dead rat in the middle of the garage. In the kitchen, a live palmetto bug and tiny ants.

The house is rundown

The location of this house is great. Other than that I would not recommend staying here. When we checked in we found something smeared on the wall and on the comforter in one of the bedrooms. Neither of the bathrooms were cleaned it had garbage and clumps of hair on the wall and in the drains. We did get ahold of the rental agency and they had people come out to clean those things. The house needs to have a lot of updates done to it because it is run down. Both showers have black mold growing in the grout. We also found black mold in the vent in the bedroom with the queen size bed. We also found a cockroach in the kitchen. I do have a picture of the cockroach and wish this allowed for me to upload pictures because I would upload it so everyone knew we weren't lying. We told the cleaning staff of our discovery and they told us that it's just something you have to do with when you're in Florida. I've been travelling to Florida my entire life and I have never had a space had bugs in them.

Perfect Beach Getaway

The location of this property is amazing, you’re right on the beach. You’re able to sit in the shaded porch and see the kids playing in the sand and the ocean. Overall it was a good experience but as other reviews stated, I’m not sure if we would stay here again. The problem is you don’t know what you’ll get with the townhome next to the property which you have to share the pool with. Unfortunately the people that rented the other property checked in the same day we did and they were drinking a lot and had their music loud and were in the pool area and inside the pool drinking (3 men and 1 woman) we had 3 girls and a little boy and didn’t feel comfortable letting them get in the pool while the neighbors were outside, so we couldn’t use the pool but enjoyed the beach a lot. The layout is a little odd and there is not much privacy if you have 2 families sharing the place, but that wasn’t an issue for us. The beds were super comfortable and the furniture around the property was nice. I wouldn’t count sleeping on the sofa bed, because it’s old and very uncomfortable. But we did have a great time and we walked to Caddy’s, a restaurant on the beach, so that was fun too.

Proximity to the beach is fabulous

We felt like the property itself was a little off from the pictures. It is small and a bit awkward layout. The only beach chairs (that were supposed to be in the garage to carry to the beach)were damaged and unusable so we had to buy our own. The pool was very sandy and used a lot by the other family in the duplex so we didn't use it much. The Very very best part was the view and easy access to the beach. It is literally right out the door and we absolutely loved that and the views. The sunsets were amazing!!

Relaxing time

Treasure Island Stay

Overall our stay was great due to location of the property but there were plenty of problems. Property Manager doe not seem to be familiar with the property. I asked about beach chairs/towels before heading to the beach and was told they were not provided. As a result I packed chairs and towels only to find they were on site. Very irritating considering chairs take a lot of room in a car. The hide a bed is basically unusable as when deployed it blocks access to a bathroom. When you plan for eight places to sleep and find out two of those spaces are not available it is very annoying. Pool requires daily maintenance to be useable. Maintenance is handled by the renters not the property manager. BBQ grill was a safety hazard. It was missing a couple of bolts so that it was very dangerous to move. It was replaced with a new grill the day we departed but that did not help me. Shower in master bath had to be repaired (by me) to be useable.

3 story duplex with 3 bedrooms, pull out couch and a very large couch on the top floor with TV. Little cut up layout but roomy enough.

Quirky beach house with an ideal location

We loved the location of this place. The house setup is kinda strange and wouldn't have a lot of privacy for multiple families, but it worked great for our girls' weekend.

Best Vacation Ever!!

My family and I loved this property. There was plenty of space for everyone. Furniture and beds were comfortable. The best part was that it was just steps to the beach. Pool was an added pleasure.

BEACH A.....POOL F....CLEANLINESS INSIDE D OUTSIDE F. Wouldn't rent again

Arrived at 330 for 3pm check in.. unit wasn't ready,, told us be back 45 mins they should have taken 2 hours to clean the house. House is now blue (fyi) there are 3 holes in the floor, one above the spiral stairs and another by the 1st bedroom & 2nd one. Blinds missing slats in 1st br and closet. 2nd br closets no drawers. Top floor dresser smells like mildew. Pool liner is aged and the pool was filled with sand and pine needles. Pool equipment is circa 1990. Pool latches are rusty and iffy to stay closed. Apparently owners think once a week cleaning is acceptable, it's not. Soda cans band aids and candy found in bedrooms. Trash around the house. Kitchen was in disarray and had to wash everything before use. No sponge no dw soap no brush no dish towels. Only 3 wine glasses. No beach towels ( don't provide) and outside shower has no pull string. Garage was a mess. More trash rusted chairs crappy umbrella and deserted beach pails. Garage doors all have issues. The yard has not been tended to in months. Overgrown. Needles just piled under the deck. If you are traveling with children under 7, its not the best house for you. It's a split house and you have no control over who's sharing the pool area. They may not latch gates due to rusting. If you are a bigger person or bad knees, the house will be a struggle. This was my 8th trip to TI and love the area. The group in unit 1 had AC issues fridge issues and a small fire. I would rather rent a house then this mess that was split into two townhouses.

Sisters get together

Loved the location. Not too touristy. Beach not too busy. If you get some chairs from the garage and put them out early, others will put theirs elsewhere and maintain your view of the beach. Be careful at the top of the spiral stairs as the sub-floor is caving in. Other than that - great stay.

Location location location!

We went down for a girls trip with the golden girls and the location was outstanding! Right off the patio to the sand it was amazing! The Town house needed a few updates for sure, the layout was very odd and there’s no pravicy there is one room Secluded and everything is upstairs so if u have kids or older people it’s not a great kid friendly place there needs to be some rails for stairs going up and there’s no bathroom at the very top so u have to come down stairs in the middle of the night little scary! But over all I would stay here again because we were so close to the ocean and the water! The pool is always cold and dirty cause there’s pine trees all around so that stunk! But again I loved the location

The Good & the Bad

The Good: This property has without a doubt a perfect location. The beach out the door is heaven!!! The size of home is good despite It’s funky layout. The Bad: We never would have rented this property if we knew the condition of the furnishings. The bed was not a pillow top as described. It appeared old and was hard which didn’t make for comfortable sleep. The Photos present this as quite a bit nicer looking. The queen room had no window which I didn’t know was legal. No tv in there so especially felt like a cave. The were a few hazards in the house like a hole in the floor / under the carpet at the top of the stairs. The house was in need of overall TLC. We’re in our 40’s & 50’s and it kind of felt more like a flop house from college days. The lighting is awful and the AC wasn’t working the last day. The bbq was set out for garbage, no comfy chairs, the pool is cold & the hammock was broken. - I don’t mean to sound rude it’s just really disappointing to book a house that wasn’t as described. - BUT- the location was amazing so we tried to focus on that. Had I known I gladly would have spent more money on a better place. With about $5k spent right in improvements this would be an excellent property.

Great place on the beach!

The place was as described. The layout is a little awkward, but unique and cool as well. You cannot beat the 40 yards walk to the beach. We caught a lot of fish from the surf and made blackened fish tacos using the BBQ grill provided. I would stay again for sure.

Perfect location!

You will not find a beach house with a better location than this one. Sunset Beach is a beautiful, quiet strip of beach. It is conveniently located just a 5 minute walk down the beach from restaurants and bars. The house itself has a few quirks. The downstairs has a great open flow of kitchen, dining, and living space. The views from inside the house out to the beach are amazing! The non-working stove discussed in other reviews has been replaced. The two upper floors are definitely unique. There is no privacy for two of the three bedrooms. You must walk through them to get to the third floor spaces. The only bedroom that has a door and privacy is the queen bedroom on the second floor. But it has no window and is a dark cave. The house is a townhouse and shares the pool and patio space with the unit next door. We unfortunately had a family that brought 6 college age kids with the next to us during Spring Break week. They trashed the beach and pool area daily. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
