"The location was perfect for what we wanted, however the condition of the house was a little tired to be honest. There was a musty smell in the house, some of the fitting were broken with tissue holding doors shut. The kitchen light would work and the after about 5 mins some would turn off. Where furniture close to a wall it had damaged on the wall that needed painting. Also the garden would have been nice but the steps were covered in the small stones which you could easily slip on. Due to my parents being with us (in there 70’s) we thought best to clean the steps before they went out. We did book last minute so I appreciate there wasn’t time but it looks like it had been well used as a house but the attention to detail had been missed, certainly not what we expected at this price point. We would use the website again as the staff on the phone were help full but most likely not the house again. Sorry, I think feed back is needed to improve for the next customer. Regards Rob"

"The house is outstanding and perfect for an extended family getaway. The photos on the website don’t do it justice. The layout and design are great and the place feels special. The views are outstanding. You feel like you are in the middle of the countryside but it’s a short walk to several nice Pubs/Restaurants/shops in the town. The Castle is a fascinating place with a great history and well worth a visit or two. I was in two minds about leaving this review as I don’t want to reduce its availability. We were unlucky to have a few days when the farmers were working in the surrounding fields which are very close which affected our privacy and threw up clouds of dirt leaving everything outside with a layer of cotswold dust. When we raised an issue getting out of the front gate on foot it was resolved very quickly. Thank you."

"We stayed here four years ago and were dismayed to see that now much of the attractive furniture and curtains had been replaced with "standard modern hotel items" The huge brown chest of drawers in the non en-suite bedroom is particularly ugly. Why? The website still shows the original furnishings. That said, we much enjoyed our stay and it is certainly comfortable. The lack of a downstairs loo is a drawback for six people. Minor issues: no washing up brush and the mixer tap was leaking. A cafetiere would be useful for those who do not use 'Nespresso'. The garden looks neglected, even allowing for the drought."
