「Friendly staff, large rooms, great choice at breakfast all freshly cooked. Will visit again!」

「Lovely owners who have run this place for over 40 years. It is set back in time, early 80s and an education and experience of that. However does have Wifi and central to the Town. I was upgraded to a larger room with en suite without asking which was a nice touch. Pleasantly surprised with the cost that it included breakfast, I had porridge, fruit juice, cooked breakfast and toast. All floors have stairs which would not be suitable for the less mobile.」

「We used the Hare & hounds as a stopover on our way home but will give serious consideration to returning to explore the Lakes from there」

「What gem of a place , for a solo traveller looking for an overnight stay this was brilliant. Lovely room , great break fast and a s great price .」

「Staff were excellent. The food was excellent. Everywhere was spotless. The 4 bedrooms are up 3 flights of stairs but the staff we extremely helpful. An enjoyable experience. The pub is quirky.」

「The rooms were fine-we’d stay there again. The bathroom fan was running in the wrong direction-pulling air in.」

「The property was was pretty much as expected, The room was clean and big. The issue we had was there did not seem to be sufficent sound deading between the rooms, as we could hear voices from other rooms. Could not hear what they were saying, but could near the noise. Luckily they went to bed about the same time we did and did not wake up before we did, but it not what we wanted or expected. It was in a very isolated location. That was not a problem for us, but something to be aware of. ...

「Lovely old building, well located and enough parking at the back of hotel in side street. Comfortable bed, room was well maintained, especially the bathroom. Room was spacious enough for one person.」

「Very close from the station, nice river view and clean room.」

「Location was ideal for an overnight stay on the way to Scotland. Home cooked food in the restaurant was great. Parking was very convenient.」
