Excellent bay front location in St. George Island Plantation. House is set back in the pines, in a very tranquil setting, with great separation from the neighbors and bay views through the trees. Check in at the management office was friendly and quick. The house was clean and comfortable for my family of 6, with three large bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms. Kitchen was reasonably well equipped for cooking meals, and dining areas at the table and kitchen island accommodated everyone. The WiFi was fast and reliable, allowing for streaming movies through the smart TVs. The Gulf-side beach is a short walk across the street, or a quick bike or drive to the parking for the beach and jetty at Sikes cut. Out back of the house, it’s a short walk down the path to the bayside dock, where you can fish or check out the wildlife in and out of the water. We saw plenty of fish, crabs, ospreys, and even dolphins cruising in and around the docks. It’s also a great place to launch kayaks or canoes. Also, great sunset views from the dock or from the upper deck of the house. One word of caution - there are no side rails on the dock, so be careful with young kids - and the bench at the end had some loose boards, but I still enjoyed sitting there. Overall, the house, location on SGI, and setting was perfect for us, and seemed a good value as compared to other options in the area. We would not hesitate to stay here again!
