The view and amentities were outstanding. I would 100% stay here again. The house was perfect for two couples to have their own space and bathroom. The kitchen/living room all flowed together for time with the family. The deck and dock were great for gathering and relaxing as well. The dock does have a fence that you can pull across the opening so the dogs don't get out. We saw dolphins playing in the bay on our first day. The hot tub was perfect for relaxing. We didn't use the pool because it was too cold for us. The only thing we would have done differently was bring our own groceries. There is a Piggly Wiggly express in the gas station, but it's small and expensive. The closest Walmart is about 1.5 hours away. There is a larger Piggly Wiggly in Apalachacola, but it was still small and relatively expensive. I suggest bringing your own food staples if you plan to make your meals at home. The meat at the butcher was great. Some of the best grouper we had was purchased from the Piggly Wiggly Express and cooked at home.

This house had everything it promised to have. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the breeze. We loved swimming in the pool, fishing off the dock, watching the dolphins and herons drop by every day. The location on the "pelican highway" was an unexpected bonus! Even when the weather was not great, we stayed home and enjoyed the views, pool table, and hot tub. There was plenty of space for the four of us. There was great wifi. The host responded quickly to all our questions and comments and was super helpful. The pool was perfectly positioned for enjoying the sunsets with your favorite beverage. We actually only went to ocean side once a day since we had everything at the house. The piggly wiggly express had everything we needed and wanted --and we ate at home all the time except once: we went to the Blue Parrot and loved sitting outside in the wind on the terrace. We did stand in line for 1h45 minutes for Webers donuts. Do it for experience but expect that all cake donuts have the same batter and only the frosting makes the donuts taste different and contains the flavor.We will definitely be back to St George and this house!

Best vacation we have had in a long time.

honestly this place was a dream to us. it was very relaxing and quite. the waters and surrounding landscapes were absolutely stunning. we were able to actually reset our minds here. the fishing and crabbing from the dock were excellent. the kind really enjoyed the pool and the games provided at the house. the restaurants on the island were in my opinion to die for. we were sad to leave but we will return in the future. I highly recommend sunset retreat and will be advising other friends and family to check it out.

Home away from home

It's a wonderful house that actually feels like a home. Listing is accurate and the pictures don't do the view off of the dock justice. Kitchen was well stocked and newer appliances. Host was quick to answer any questions and communicate.There isnt anything negative to say about this rental other than I wish we had rented it for longer. cant wait to come back.place

Perfect Getaway!

Everything was exactly as advertised. The views from the dock were perfect for dolphin sightings and amazing sunsets. No need to battle the crowds on the beach or pier because you have access to catching all the fish you want right in the backyard.No need to look any further for the perfect getaway for you and your spouse or if you want to bring the family down. Thanks for everything!

Beautiful sunsets

Beautiful property on the bay with an awesome outdoor area. Great fishing nice dock with fish cleaning station. We could ride the bikes to the beach and light house. Would definitely stay again.

Great home on the bay!

We really enjoyed out stay at Sunset Retreat. The home is very attractive, comfortable and has an incredible view of the bay. The family enjoyed fishing from the dock, playing pool in the rec are and riding bikes that were provided. The property is fenced so our pups were safe and could enjoy the sand and sun!

Great bay view

We loved the view from the main living area. It was a non stop view that didn’t disappoint. The kitchen had everything we needed for meals and we ate all there except one lunch. Easy walk to the beach. Plenty of room and perfect with one dog accompanying us.

My family loved staying at this property. The pool, fishing on the dock, seeing the dolphins every morning and kayaking in the bag. Grandkids loved being able to kayak to the oyster beds and investigate. We will be staying here again, perfect size and so much for the kids to do!!

Great vacation stay

Great property, awesome view. 2nd time staying at Sunset Retreat. The house and dock were great. The fishing from the dock was not so good this time but we definitely had a great time.

Relaxation

We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets, the pool, and fishing from dock and all the extras this house offered! Loved that it was pet friendly! We’ve been to SGI many times but never end stayed on the bay before and this was a nice surprise and very relaxing! Only went to the beach twice since the house had so much to offer.

Dirty!!! But decent.

After we cleaned the house it was more comfortable. Quiet location. Beautiful sunsets. Nice pier Hot tub has been neglected for a LONG time. We added water (H2O was below filters) added chemicals and scrubbed the scum line. Filters need replaced unfortunately we only rented this place because of the hot tub and sunsets. Comfy couch and beds. Great TV. Great kitchen fully stocked. The potential is there to have a truly wonderful rental but the cleaning crew needs replaced and the amenities need better maintenance.
