The pictures online show a thoughtfully decorated house with an artsy flair on the outside of Zion National Park. The reviews all looked good, the price was amazing, so I booked this house for myself, my husband and our 2 kids for 2 nights as part of a 10 day Western US road trip.
We arrived after dinner time, and as soon as we walked in the door all 4 of us were hit with a musty stale cigarette smell. It was noticed immediately, by all 4 of us. The smell was so bad my husband, who is the most laid back guy in the world, wouldn't bring our luggage in because he didn't want it to smell from being in the house.
I contacted the owner who told me I could spray some fabreze in the house if it bothered me. He then continued to argue with me about the house being nonsmoking, and that no one had smoked in the house. If someone hadn't recently been smoking in the house, then at some point someone did because the smell is permeated into the walls and no amount of fabreze is going to fix it.
My daughter is allergic to smoke and mold and because of that, and because none of us could tolerate the smell, we did not stay here and ended up at the fairmont 10 min down the road. There was a pool and the rooms were clean and it ended up working out, but I would not recommend to stay here.
Also- this house is on the outskirts of a not so great part of town. It's thoughtfully decorated but due to the smell & the owner basically calling us liars, I would not recommend
