"Our stay at RIU Aquarelle was great. Its very clean and the employees are absolutely amazing. Definitely more of a party resort than we’re used to but it was also college spring break time. The food is *good*. The breakfast was by far our least favorite. The lunch buffet is great as is Pepe’s by the pool. The restaraunts were good aside from the entrees at the Asian restaurant. We booked a partial ocean view and ended up upgrading to the full ocean view when we arrived. It was 10000% worth it — especially after seeing the view from the partial view. "

"The room was good size with the balcony. There is the small fridge with mini bar inside the room. Because of limited availability, some drinks were not replenish whole stay even when we asked. There was a limited ocean view from the room. The room was cleaned daily. The pool is good size and very clean. Bars at the pool and in the lobby always had some ingredients for drinks missing. Staff in the hotel is excellent. If you like the Caribbean Sea with nice and clean waters this hotel not for you. Bottom of the sea is completely covered with sea grass so you can not swim and enjoy the waters. The Greek and Aunt Ruby restaurant were good. Buffet was average. Average Hotel should have 3.5 stars. "

"When you first arrive everything looks magical but after staying awhile you start to see some issues. Like the beach is almost unusable except for the hardiest because it’s rocky, shallow and filled with an underwater plant. The food looks nice but when we sampled every dessert, for example, we could find a single one that was delicious. The days are the best because the pool is expansive with lots of activities and the lazy river is fun. The room also was really nice and I paid extra for an ocean view and I’m glad I did. But the evenings were a bit challenging especially with the lack of actually delicious food. But if I were a family with small kids (I’m not) I would definitely go there because it’s safe and lots of things for kids to do. But as an adult looking for a finely curated experience, I wouldn’t go back. "
